You're thinking KO; he's thinking of gradually, slowly, so that all the Hillary supporters continue high-fifing and dozing off in their complacency, while he continues picking up more undecideds, changing the wafflers to mild Trump supporters, the generally-votes-Dem to well-maybe-just-this-once-ers, and so on.
He's going for the swing voters and softening up traditional Dem strongholds.
But her bubble chamber will hear none of it.

No questions about her server
No questions about her charity
No questions about her destroying email under subpoena
No questions about anything that would be damaging to Clinton.
But Holt tried three times to make Trumps prior questions about Obama a race issue.

This is why I voted “F” for Lester Holt’s job performance. He doesn’t care, though. It’s Georgetown party invitations he craves.

We can only hope Trump will be good on his word that she WILL answer for her crimes.
To: goldstategop
He wasnt trying to be any one other than himself.I agree. But I think he wasn't prepared for how bold she would be with her lying. Or how alone he would be on that stage.
Some of his answers could have been more to the point too. Like the "birther" thing. With a little preparation he could have widdled it down to "Lester, the whole 'birther' issue was started in 2008 by Hillary Clinton when she was running against Senator Obama. She asked questions. I got answers. She started it. I finished it. I've moved on."

Trump just says, I answered that during the previous debate, now lets get to the real issues.Did you not see the riff about the court condemning "stop and frisk?"
Both Lester AND Hillary hammered that, and Trump said nothing to show BOTH their assertions were partisan and unfair.

Be careful what you wish for. You should hear what is spoken in middle schools these days. Just kidding I completely agree with you.

You know, there's a reason all professional politicians sound the same these days...usually, it works. Tonight, against Trump, you see why.... Please clap.

That makes no sense whatsoever.Try "sounding out" the words. I'm sure you'll get it.

Wow, Judge Napolitano just said Hillary won, she was “composed, charming, and likable”.

“Please clap. “
That was such a pathetic whine Jeb did! I still laugh when someone uses that phrase.
To: mtrott
Lol, the Trump surrogate on Fox News just said that Trump said he would carpet bomb ISIS That will play with everyone except Huma.
Fewer US casualties, you see.
TRUMPSLIDE!

I can’t believe he let her put him on defense about HIS financials!!!!!!

Sometimes, I wonder if people look at this and one notices the blemishes of whom they are cheering on more.
That is how I look at sports events, I want my team to win but I don’t want them to win ugly, cheat, etc.
The more I think and read about this, maybe Clinton did do poorly.
To: Georgia Girl 2
The questions themselves were petty, designed to embarrass Trump and worded to allow comebacks by Hillary.
Trump left a lot on the table for the next debate and still won!
She got more policy questions and Trump got “where’s your taxes”.

I was paying attention to her cadence: definitely seemed like she had a receiver. She would pause as if listening to information. I told my wife that but she disagreed.

At 10:42 PST after the debate, Hillary is leaning forward and you can clearly see a cord ringing down her back and what seems to be a power supply on her lower back!
