If they play this right, it could be positioned as a big win for both....it gets Cruz back in the game in his mind, and Trump can look like the guy who can make deals and mend fences and bring people together.
Also if Trump becomes President, he can raise Cruz’s profile in a way that makes it far more beneficial for Cruz to support Trump than undermine him.
Hillary and Bill hated (and probably still hate) Obama....and I’m sure it is mutual.

This endorsement should be welcomed. Trump’s team seems to acknowledge that fact. Needed? Maybe not. Welcomed? Absolutely helps. Helps Cruz? Probably.

It's a sure sign that the insiders are seeing that Trump is going to win this thing. They gambled that Trump would lose and so they tried putting themselves in position to pick up the pieces later while saying "I told you so."
Now they are simply swallowing their pride and putting themselves on the winning side. I'm sure Trump will appreciate the endorsement but the hesitation will be noted.

And .. recently, Trump began talking support for Cruz’s push to stop Obama from releasing control over the internet.
That might have been why Cruz is now suddenly ready to support Trump.

After hearing Mike Lee’s response today to Trump floating Lee’s name as a possible SCOTUS nominee, I seriously doubt Cruz endorses Trump.
