I think all the free att.net ISP email accounts are subed out to yahoo and utilize the same yahoo infrastructure as yahoo.com. Not to mention that yahoo used to try to make a business out of hosting 3rd party domains and may well have a few million of those lying around from people too lazy or too stupid to have found a proper host.
