Donald Trump is, at heart, a showman. He rose to national fame thanks to star turns on reality TV in which he played the tough-talking boss to a group of aspirants hoping to become as successful as he has been in business. His great gift is the ability to draw attention and then use that attention for his own, usually commercial, purposes.
Trump may have outdone himself on Friday morning. He and his campaign touted a "major" announcement at his newly-opened hotel in Washington, D.C. at 10 a.m. The word was that Trump would walk away from his past skepticism about President Obama's citizenship while also laying the blame for the birther movement at the feet of Hillary Clinton. (That, of course, isn't true according to numerous fact-checkers but no matter: Trump planned to say it anyway.)

Oh, now that's just nasty. I love it.
I’m with on every point you made. I was here during the birther wars, and recall every bit of that controversy like it was yesterday.
The media is going to be sorry they re-ignited this. The indisputable documentary evidence proves that Hillary’s camp started it.
Wendle, I’m not trying to be over-reactionary here, but we fault the press for not giving Trump credit. Then we do it ourselves.
Trump is in the driver’s seat. He’s honed his talents over his 40 year career. He has used these tactics to his advantage to get publicity for his many real estate interest.
He will be teaching Kelly Anne a number of important lessons.
I’m not trying to dump on her, but Trump is the driving force, and has been for decades before she even knew his name.
She is quite capable at what she does or he wouldn’t have hired her. She handles the press very well, making appearances and the such, but she is like every other Trump employee. She takes direction at his discretion.
A pro golfer goes out and shoots a 64, leading the pack by 5 strokes. Then his biggest fans say, “My God, good thing he had that caddie!”
Ah no... ...they don’t.
“...wouldnt it be great if Born in the USA were played at the next Trump rally.”
It sure would be great. Even better, Springsteen would wet his pants over it.
The author of Game Change said the Clinton campaign told him the birther story
IIRC, the WaPo published an article that confirmed that the birther movement was started by Hitlery’s 2008 campaign.
Or was it the NYT?
Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Are the posters over yoder from the DU? Most of them sound like it.
Light up the worm’s facebook page with that. Priceless!
Points well taken. I was a baseball coach for eleven years, I never took an at bat — I never made a double play , I never pitched an out or picked a runner off on second . I coached. We won. That is what Kelly Anne is doing. She is a coach. My players had the talent, executed the plays and listened very carefully.
Hillary and the press got schlonged. LOL!
Love to see if they have an anti-Alinsky 13 step program, or are using Alinksy against the Alinkskyites! LOL !!!!!
This will bring a lot of nevertrumpers into the fold. It was an amazing feat!
Hillary was not the first birther. Obama was. He told people he was born in Kenya to get people to see him speak.
Hillary absolutely pushed the birther story several times in 2008. You can say the words did not come out of her mouth but her campaign was all over it.
"The press pool for Donald Trump made the unprecedented collective decision to refuse to air footage of a tour of Trumps new hotel, even erasing the tape to ensure it never became public."
"Trump announced Friday morning that he would be giving a press conference in his new D.C. hotel on the birther issue. When reporters arrived, they discovered that the press were being forced to sit in the back of the room. The press conference turned out to be a half an hour of veterans praising Trump, sprinkled with advertisements for the hotel, followed by an extremely brief comment from Trump on the actual topic at hand."
"Trump took no questions and left the room, leading to angry shouts from the duped reporters." ====================================================
DumpsterUnderground.com post. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Trump Rickrolled them. Awesome.
He should just hand them a 1040 EZ form.
...wouldnt it be great if Born in the USA were played at the next Trump rally.
Oh, now that’s just nasty. I love it.”
Not so fast. The title sounds good, and just the opening few notes would send the message, but the song is anti-American. See this article from years ago when people wanted to use that song.
“When reporters arrived, they discovered that the press were being forced to sit in the back of the room.”
This probably isn’t very noble of me, but this is what got me on the Trump bandwagon early.
When Trump wiped the floor with Univisions Jorge Ramos just over a year ago, I just couldn’t help but give him kudos. A politician putting a reporter in his place; a minority reporter at that.
It’s refreshing to see the Rat Media treated like the rats they are, not feared like the likes of Romney et al.
Somehow I don’t expect any self-analysis of the media this weekend, as to why they are so detested by so many.
