Late on Wednesday night, the Missouri legislature voted to overturn Gov. Jay Nixon's veto of bill SB 656 and allow Missourians to carry concealed weapons without a permit. This is known as "Constitutional carry." Missouri is now the 11th state to have a Constitutional carry law on the books.

Nice. Sadly though, since this kind of BS legislation shouldn't be needed in the first place. Still searching for that part of the 2nd that says we need approval by the state to pack heat. If anybody finds it, let us know.

You’re right that it is wrong for the government to have to approve our RIGHT to keep and bear arms. That should have been quashed long long ago. But welcome to MO, and thanks to its legislators who overrode Gov. Nixon’s veto.

Exactly.

This should be the law in EVERY state. The Supreme Court needs to rule on this. If they can find a right to abortion which is not even hinted at in the Constitution, surely they can find a right to bear arms which is explicitly stated.

It is more like they are removing the restrictions which Government had placed on the Constitutional right.

“...since this kind of BS legislation shouldn’t be needed in the first place...”

While I completely agree with you, I look at this way:

The other side used to law to deny people their rights. It’s OUR TURN now to use the law to respect people’s rights.

They want to play the game... we’ll play it too. Now it’s codified into state LAW.

By definition, is it “constitutional carry” if you can’t carry openly?

I hope you are kidding.

In the absence of Scalia, you think the SC will advance 2nd Amendment rights? For the leftists on the SC, of whom I place Kennedy, abortion rights trump everything and gun rights are to be gutted.

Missouri is an open carry state.
Some towns restricted open carry. This legislation allows open carry in those towns if you get the CCW permit.
It’s a start.

Open carry trades away some psychological deterrent value through the granting of foreknowledge. Uncertainty is useful—are they or aren’t they? What might they bring forth? What about any bystanders? Easy concealed changes the calculation.

Not kidding. But I didn’t mean today! Yikes! I should have been clearer.

I’m hoping Trump will fill the current vacancy and any future vacancies with honest judges who understand the Constitution and respect the freedom of American citizens.

I don't disagree. And I would imagine that you would agree that we should still have a choice in how one carries.
