FBI mistakenly gives 27 'embarrassing' Hillary Clinton emails to Congress, now asks for them back

The FBI asked HOGR Chairman and Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz' committee to return the emails after including them in an Aug. 17 document dump that was supposed to be identical to an Aug. 16 document — but wasn't, according to Chaffetz.

"The problem is the second set had 27 emails more than the other one, which we were grateful for … only to have the FBI try to come back and recover those," Chaffetz said in a Monday hearing with intelligence community officials over classifications and redactions from the FBI investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server at the Department of State.

"Not because it was SAP (Special Access Programs) material — because it was embarrassing. That's why. It was embarrassing. But we should have had it in the first round," Chaffetz said.

Who cares whether they are classified or embarrassing or what. They released them. Use the Pentagon Papers decision as a go by. Once in the public they can be printed.

There’s a pretty good video on FR someplace, of Chavetz ranking down the FBI spokesmouth after he disclosed they had decided which emails to release and what would be redacted.

Chavetz asked him where in the Constitution does it give that authority, and how his constituents had elected him to see the files, and how his committee members elected him to chair the committee and view the information.

He then asked a couple more questions which the FBI hack declined, or answered no.

He then produced a packet of paperwork, subpoenaing the FBI to produce all the un-redacted e-mails...the complete file.

He said: “Consider yourself served”.

These extra emails were released by the FBI on purpose. Why? So they could use it as an excuse to resist releasing any more (the really damaging ones). In retail it’s called a loss leader.

What about the fact her server was once backed up to the Google Cloud and than transferred back to another server.

What about the laptop with the emails on them that was sent by US mail and lost in the mail? Who mails a laptop with important things on it and not back it up.

Who really has her emails? The NSA? The Russians? or Julian Assange. My guess is all of them.

1) There was nothing sensitive on Hillary’s computer.
2) The emails released to the public had to be heavily redacted because a lot of their content was too sensitive to release.
3) Some of the stuff given to Congress was too sensitive for Congress to see and had to be returned to the FBI.
4) But the important thing to remember is: There was nothing sensitive on Hillary’s computer.

I see now why I failed Logic 101!

This is a bit off topic, but I notice that Comey’s excuse for inaction was that “no federal prosecutor would take this case to court.”

But no one has asked him: Whether or not a prosecutor would proceed with the case, did Hillary or her associates break the letter of the law? Yes or no? Did the FBI find anything that suggests evidence was destroyed? Do you discern anything that might be a pattern of using lawyers and attorney client privilege to muddy the waters of accountability?
