Dallas fire captain shot and killed in car, wife arrested for conspiracy to commit murder

A Texas woman was arrested Saturday for allegedly conspiring to commit murder after her husband, a Dallas-area fire captain, was found shot dead in his car.
Bob Poynter was found dead in his car along the road around 11 p.m. Friday after witnesses reported seeing a woman trying to get the attention of drivers.
Chacey Poynter, 29, told officers that her husband had been shot and police found Bob Poynter dead in the car from a single gunshot wound, according to a Royse City Police Department press release.
The fire captain’s wife gave “suspicious and conflicting” information, according to the press release, and she was arrested and is being held at the Hunt County Jail.
An arrest warrant for Michael Garza, 37, was also put out in connection with the murder. He turned himself in early Sunday morning.
Garza was charged with murder and is also being held at the Hunt County Jail. Police have not yet released how he is connected to the Poynters.

Not that I expect the media to get the facts straight, but the dead guy didn’t work for the Dallas Fire Department.
He was with the University Park (a town of under 25,000 citizens) fire department.
