Within moments of the episode itself, the campaign went into a vaguely familiar lockdown mode. When word did emerge from the campaign, the official account was that Clinton felt overheated at a 9/11 remembrance event and was feeling "much better" -- a story that seemed incomplete, based on video evidence that quickly surfaced.
Hours later came word that as that she had been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday and placed on antibiotics. This came after days when coughing fits bad enough to stop her from continuing at public events had been blamed on allergies.
All of this may have been hard enough to believe on its face had Clinton and her aides not had a history of misleading the press and public when it comes to her health. The full story of her fainting spell in 2012, when she was secretary of state, may still not be known, and only began to be told when glasses she wore in public testimony revealed a more complicated truth.
Earlier this year, in relation to the unrelated matter of her personal email, Clinton declared that she was the "most transparent official in modern times." That statement strains basic credulity - now more than ever.

The Trump team may do well to begin opposition research on possible HRC replacements now.
If the Wicked Witch has pneumonia, why was she holding a child? She obviously does not have pneumonia, but something much worse (e.g., Parkinson’s Disease or congestive heart failure). Assuming she doesn’t die soon, the DNC will likely pressure her to withdraw so it can select a replacement (assuming it’s not too late for that).
She’s so bwave.
Ask Hillary supporters, “Would you board a bus or airplane driven by someone with Hillary’s symptoms?”
“If not, why do you want her ‘driving’ the country?”
I can help with that.
MSM line of defense around Hillary is crumbling forced by events.
She isn’t making it easy for them to show her in a good light.
Hillary is demolishing her own candidacy with her own hands.
And all Trump has to do is stay positive.
FDR.
Woodrow Wilson.
FWIW, I already have my application for my absentee ballot sent to me by Ohio SOS, Husted. I'll mail it in tomorrow. They'll have the ballot to me in time to vote by early October.
IOW, the ballots are printed.
Why your comment is just so deplorable! Just kidding!!! As a woman, I would not vote for her either!
WOW a random act of ACTUAL JOURNALISM from Rick Klein, how long before he ends up with two bullets in the back of the head and the media calls it suicide
Bingo. I keep hoping she will stay in the race because she is so beatable. I’m afraid her replacement will be an Obama 2.0; a relatively unknown candidate who will have the media fawning over him/her and typical dem voters will flock to the polls to vote for the cool one to save them.
Why? Because the cat is out of the bag and they smell the blood in the water...
You see, the media is willing to carry water, but once its out there, and I mean really out there, they smell the blood and the feeding frenzy happens.
Do you not recall the Monica situation? The press covered up for years and years and buried everything they could about Clinton and his philandering and rape accusations etc etc.. They knew about it, but they were not going to report it.. not one lick of it. They knew about Monica and his various philandering while in office as well, but weren’t going to say a word.
Then... then DRUDGE put out that headline... and BOOM overnight, they all realized the cat was out of the bag, and the feeding frenzy began and every single story and detail and allegation they could find was suddenly on their radar and being reported.... THey didn’t let it out, but once it was out, they were going to go for broke to outdo each other for eyeballs and scoops.
Up until Today, Hillary’s health was still in the, yea, we all know something is wrong, but the plausible deniability is still live.. she hasn’t totally flaked in front of the public yet, at least not to a level where the things offered as reasons aren’t “plausible”... the cat was still in the bag.. Hillary going spastic and then collapsing into a heap and being dragged literally into her van on camera... Well that removed any shot at plausible deniability...
Had the Campaign and surrogates not spent so much of the past few weeks or month so vocally assuring us that Hillary was healthy as a horse, then this might have been something you could write off as a one time thing... maybe she did have heat exhaustion or whatever.... but since they have been bending over backwards claiming she’s healthy as a horse and stop talking about her health... for her to completely go down on camera... Well, the cats out of the bag.... so they will indeed go into a feeding frenzy now and start to ask all the questions and connect the dots and ask about the other odd incidents she’s had physically that they just glossed over or let go before.
Her staff scurried through the crowd attempting to control any video of the van incident to no avail. Trying to control information like it’s 1996 in a 2016 campaign must be frustrating.
It will be a short list. They need instant name recognition and ‘credibility’.
Biden, Sanders, Warren, Michelle Obama
Biden is the only one with both.
Trump shouldnt say a word about this..if asked, just say “I wish her a speedy recovery” and thats it..he will be asked..REPEATEDLY about this because the media wants to change the focus, make this about “Meanie Trump bashing a sick woman” so Trump should go back to focus on the real issues, immigration, terror, economy..and if asked about Clinton, say he hopes she is OK and leave it at that
All eyes on Rush tomorrow...if he promotes the video of the collapse as the end of Hillary then she’s all done...
Shovel ready, indeed.
It blew me out of the water that it was Klein.
Isn’t he a favorite, though, of Fox News Howie Kurtz Media Buzz or Chris Wallace This Week? Maybe both. I think I’ve seen him there.

Fifteen years ago, America suffered the worst terrorist attack in its history. Thousands of mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and innocent American children were murdered by radical Islamic terrorists.
Today, we mourn for all the lives lost. We mourn for all the children who had to grow up without a mom or dad, and for all the parents who’ve had to struggle on without their children.
We will never forget.
In that darkest hour, the entire world bore witness to the strength and courage of our mighty nation. Firefighters, police officers and port authority workers rushed into danger, into smoke, into fire to save the lives of people they had never met — performing their sacred duties until their last moments on Earth. Heroes like Father Mychal Judge who tended to the dead and dying until he too joined them in Heaven. These were the finest and bravest and toughest people that could ever grace a city.
We remember the heroes of Flight 93, who saved countless more from a terrible fate.
We remember the heroes at the Pentagon who fought to save every last life from the smoldering rubble.
Today is a day of sadness and remembrance. It is also a day of resolve. Our solemn duty on behalf of all those who perished that September day 15 years ago, is to work together as one nation to keep all of our people safe from an enemy that seeks nothing less than to destroy our way of life.
We pray for those who have lost the ones they love so much, and we also pray for the unity we will need to conquer all the challenges to come.
Donald J. Trump
Rush blew his relevancy during the primary.
He’ll retire in the next few years.
(Maybe I’m just still PO’d at him and his #reluctantTrump Brother, David.)
