I have a shopping list, and then I want to try for filing again. This evening has been good, and quiet, except for “no signal” on Mom’s TV (”I pushed the blue button”). I’ve had to call twice for the same issue, but after about 15 minutes I remembered that I could reach “Input” on the TV itself (zip worked on the remote). I knew her problem right away, just couldn’t remember the solution. I am making a note and putting it on the entertainment center.....it WILL happen again as she can’t really see the buttons on the remote.

I wish you luck with the filing. You haven’t had much luck with it lately. Maybe your mom will be a good girl and have a quiet weekend. That would be nice.

I understand your frustration with her and the remote. We went through that with Hubby’s aunt but it was something different every time. And we never knew what button she’d hit.

Good idea writing a note. Save ya a lot of hassle next time she hits the blue button.

The only thing on the blue screen are the words “No Signal” and it bounces all over. Somehow whatever button she pushes changes the Input that controls the picture. It needs to be HDMI2 to work. Normally the remote allows you to change the input, but not when you have no signal. d:o(

But....I finally remembered the Input button on the TV itself. Problem solved this time.

The good thing is she seems to create the same problem, whatever button she’s pushing. Makes it easier for you to straighten things out.

Aunt Clara caused different problems every time and after the first couple of attempts to straighten it out with no luck, I refused to try any more. Sent Hubby in there to do it. If he wasn’t available at the time, she just had to wait. He’d eventually figure it out but it usually took an hour or more. He wasn’t fit to talk to for a while afterwards. LOL

I haven’t seen the remote in her room lately. Money says she did the same thing at the nursing home so the staff took it away. Probably pretty common practice there.

Stuff like this doesn’t make us look forward to reaching their ages, does it?

No it doesn’t, but at least I know how to work the remotes now.

Sending hubby was a great idea. LOL!

The last 3 problems have in fact been the same, and now I’ve made note so I don’t have to call. One of her problems is she cannot read the menu on screen and cannot see well enough to get the buttons right.
