CATCHING A SECOND WIND

Cross country runners and other long distance runners have all relied on a "second wind" to finish their race; the longer the race the more "second winds" will be required. This physiological wind source is a timely aid in propelling an exhausted runner onward to the finish.

The phenomenon of the "second wind" has a spiritual principle, too. When the purposes of God seem too distant to continue, God provides a "second wind" to propel his people onward to finish the cause in which they are engaged. Indeed: "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength..." (Isaiah 40:31)

I slept in this morning, exhausted after painting walls at my sister’s house yesterday.

I used to be able to paint a room in a day, shower, and go out singing at night.

Not so much anymore. It’s either one or the other!

It got much cooler the very day I changed the calendar page to September.

Hopefully it will stay out to sea and not cause any further damage.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

Good evening/morning, radu...long Mom day. Every time I sit down to the computer another question arises. I’ve been looking for things the little girl in green must have taken. *sigh* I found the new comb she already lost, but still no glasses and now her transistor radios are missing.

Whew, you’ve had a day, haven’t you. Kinda hard to get your own stuff done under the circumstances.
But there’s a bright side ...... you found the comb. :-)

Was a quiet day here. Just puttered through housework. No rain so had to water the flowers a little while ago. They were desperate.

When you said you’d been busy with your mom, I figured you hadn’t had a chance to even think about the filing or the laptop. :-(
