Donald Trump’s team has hired veteran conservative organizer, David Bossie, to help build the campaign’s voter-turnout operation.
“A friend of mine for many years. Solid. Smart. Loves politics, knows how to win,” Trump told The Washington Post.
According to The Post,
Bossie participated Thursday in strategy sessions at Trump Tower where he was introduced to campaign aides and Trump associates, according to Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway.
Conway said Bossie would be assisting her with managing day-to-day operations and with strategic planning.
“He’s a battle-tested warrior and a brilliant strategist,” Conway said. “He’s a nuts-and-bolts tactician as well, who’s going to help us fully integrate our ground game and data operations, and help with overall strategy as my deputy.”
Bossie will also work on crafting attacks against Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, mining past controversies involving her and former president Bill Clinton, and cultivating Trump’s bond with conservative activists.
Democrats were sharply critical of Bossie, who has been running Citizens United, a conservative advocacy group.
“This is the latest sign that Donald Trump has put the most extreme elements of the right-wing fringe in the driver’s seat of his campaign,” said the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s campaign, John Podesta. “He has devoted his career ever since to trying to tear down Hillary Clinton. For months now, Citizens United has been acting as an arm of the Trump campaign, and this hiring of Bossie now makes it official.”
Bossie has worked with Trump’s team in prior political campaigns. According to The Washington Post,
He is a friend of [campaign CEO Steve] Bannon and Conway whose political projects have often overlapped with his own. He is close to the secretive Mercer family, who have funded his organizations and been major backers of Trump’s candidacy.

Sounds like extreme desperation in the Dem campaign.

Elections are won by the campaigns that do a better job with thier Get Out the Vote effort and Bossie is an expert at building a voter turnout model.
The model he builds using not only data that the Trump campaign has collected, but he may also be able to access Get Out the Vote data that the Romney campaign used in 2012 as well as the Get Out the Vote data that then McCain team built in 2008.
They are desperate. I’m surprised they haven’t tried to analyze the color of his tie yet.

He did tweet this morning about visiting his campaign HQ in Trump Tower. He boasted of his team of great pros and lauded his volunteers. Stressed their GREAT SPIRIT!!!
Also, remarked that people are going to be surprised at his ground game!!!
He’s reiterated on facebook in recent days that he’s IN IT TO WIN IT!!!
Must work on not second-guessing his strategy!!

After the Republicans won control of the United States House of Representatives in the 1994 elections Dan Burton, (R-IN), became chairman of the House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight. In 1997, he hired Mr. Bossie as chief investigator to look into a possible campaign finance abuses by U.S. President Bill Clinton.[6] By May 1998, Burton came under intense partisan pressure; even fellow Republicans complained that committee staff had published redacted tapes and transcripts of former United States Associate Attorney General Webster Hubbell’s prison telephone calls omitting some exculpatory passages. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich pressed Burton to seek Bossie’s resignation.[7] Shortly thereafter, Burton accepted Bossie’s resignation.[8]

Bossie received the Ronald Reagan Award from the Conservative Political Action Conference in 1999.
Personal[edit]
Bossie has served for 20 years as a Montgomery County, Maryland volunteer firefighter. He lived in the firehouse for several years before his marriage. He met his wife, Susan, through his political work. As of 2010 they reside in Montgomery County with their four children.
I'll take their disapproval as a seal of approval.
