I say Bring Back the Draft-—BUT—for National Service —that would include Border Patrol, National Parks, Americore, Homeland security, as well as the Military. BUT—No draftee would be sent into combat unless A) they volunteer or B) War is declared by Congress. The National Service could help people learn about life and patriotism. they could build monuments, re-build the inner cities, build levees, help with crowd control and law enforcement. ALL 18 year olds would have to serve 18 to 24 months.
