Information is dribbling out about Denis Yasmir Amaya Rodriguez, the illegal alien from Honduras who crashed a party bus into a traffic pileup on I-10 in St. John the Baptist Parish on Sunday, killing two people and injuring some 40 others – and none of it is good.
And Amaya’s lengthy history as an illegal running wild outside the law now promises to make a few of Louisiana’s more high-profile public officials look like clowns.
At present, there is a major dust-up afoot between Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu over the issue, as yesterday Landry put out a statement noting how tragedies like the one involving Amaya over the weekend point out the danger in running sanctuary cities like the one Landrieu is running.

I have not had time to follow this story, but how in the hell was this unlicensed illegal alien driving a bus? That is the part that makes no sense to me - bet the ambulance chasers are all over this one.

Nope - I figured there was a bleeding heart on the other side of the equation. They should start parting out their homes now because they will not own them for long. There is negligence and there is gross negligence. This borders on the latter!

re: ‘chocolate city’ ... can’t do it, since Mitch Landrieu, Hurricane Mary’s brother, also former Lt. Gov. of LA., is the one in charge right now, tearing down the Gen. Lee Statue from Lee Circle, the Jeff Davis bust from Jeff Davis Highway, etc.

I ask you, if you are aware, the loss of life that concerns me in this matter, are not the illegal invaders, but the fire/rescue and Louisiana State Police officers that were directly struck and thrown over the side of the bridge to the water below. For that act by the driver, he should bloody well fry, and the elected parish and state representatives thrown in jail.

I agree with you on the above.
I read another article somewhere that gives additional data on the killer.
He’s been in a couple more encounters while driving but no one has put
him jail or deported him. After the first encounter he should have been put
on a plane back to his home country.
