Trump Delivers A Speech For The Ages
Conservative HQ ^ | 1 Sep 16 | George Rasley

Posted on 09/01/2016 6:33:40 AM PDT by xzins

One speech does not a campaign victory make – that is until last night when Donald Trump delivered his much-anticipated speech on immigration. The speech was, in its passion, in its emotional connection with Trump’s audience, and most importantly in its substance, a speech for the ages.

And, we might add, in Trump’s adoption of the very language we here at CHQ have used since his first major speech on economic growth, a renewal of his promise to “forgotten Americans” of all races, creeds and colors Trump Angel Momsthat hope and help are on the way.

While much of the establishment media commentary focused immediately on Trump’s 10-point plan for reestablishing America’s borders and immigration system in a way that serves and protects Americans first, we think one of the most important parts of the speech was Trump’s vision for his Administration beyond immigration enforcement.

It is “We will accomplish all of the steps outlined above, and when we do, peace and law and justice and prosperity will prevail.”

What has Hillary Clinton got to offer to counter that?

The chaos and terror of open borders, the free-falling quality of life of economic stagnation and the cultural disaster of Muslim immigration that has destroyed Sweden and that is despoiling Germany and France even as you read this column.

As important as that theme was to the speech, the most important rhetorical element of the speech was how Donald Trump established the need for his 10-point plan:

When politicians talk about immigration reform, they usually mean the following: amnesty, open borders, and lower wages.

Immigration reform should mean something else entirely: it should mean improvements to our laws and policies to make life better for American citizens.

But if we are going to make our immigration system work, then we have to be prepared to talk honestly and without fear about these important and sensitive issues.

For instance, we have to listen to the concerns that working people have over the record pace of immigration and its impact on their jobs, wages, housing, schools, tax bills, and living conditions. These are valid concerns, expressed by decent and patriotic citizens from all backgrounds.

We also have to be honest about the fact that not everyone who seeks to join our country will be able to successfully assimilate. It is our right as a sovereign nation to choose immigrants that we think are the likeliest to thrive and flourish here.

In those five short paragraphs Donald Trump threw down the folly and conceit of Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, John McCain, the Gang of Eight, Facebook Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, the US Chamber of Commerce and the rest of the open borders econometric school of immigration policy.

And finally, Donald Trump framed the core debate going into the post-Labor Day campaign as immigration and claimed the mantle of change agent by challenging the Washington establishment and media:

Instead, the media and my opponent discuss one thing, and only this one thing: the needs of people living here illegally.

The truth is, the central issue is not the needs of the 11 million illegal immigrants – or however many there may be.

That has never been the central issue. It will never be the central issue.

Anyone who tells you that the core issue is the needs of those living here illegally has simply spent too much time in Washington.

Only out of touch media elites think the biggest problem facing American society today is that there are 11 million illegal immigrants who don’t have legal status.

To all the politicians, donors and special interests, hear these words from me today: there is only one core issue in the immigration debate and it is this: the well-being of the American people. Nothing even comes a close second.

If Hillary Clinton has been looking weak and haggard on the campaign trail she must be positively terrified now, because last night Donald Trump rallied an army fiercely determined to take its country back and reclaim the promise that she and Barack Obama have stolen from them.

Cameron hadn’t been on my radar screen until i started watching Dobbs. He always seemed to have an anti-Trump angle. This time he took Trump’s statement that they werd working on the issue of 23 nations who won’t take back their deportees and turned into “everything is broke” with Trump.

It was an irrational rant on cameron’s part and clearly anti-trump. He saw nothing positive in that speech.

DAMN MEDIA.

95% of this nation won’t ever see Trump’s speech. We should be in front of the media outlets in every city with laptops broadcasting what they won’t cover.

I just don’t understand these post primary battles. I guess I am a little easier to come around than most because I am a huge Pence fan and take great comfort with his list of potential Supreme Court Judges, but I happened to like Perry and Cruz a bit better. Trump, to my utter amazement, won. God bless. Now let’s go beat Hillary. It’s not that hard.

Nah, the reason he is popular is not his teleprompter speeches, which have been pretty good. It is because he is even better unscripted, errors and all. He was excellent in most of the debates. His rallies prior to teleprompter were fantastic. He was refreshing and it obviously paid off. He crushed his competition. Too much scripted crap starts to grate on the public.

I’m not surprised Trump did so well.

People don’t ponder history enough, do they?

Even RECENT history.

The history of Trump these past two years teaches a key lesson —

*** He routinely exceeds expectations. ***

We're looking at different goals. Trump's unscripted speeches won him his support from those who believe in America and the rule of law. The purpose of sticking to the script in the remaining two months is to win the support of some swing voters who are easily offended but would prefer his ideas so long as they are presented in innocuous words.

I know your post is older but saw it and agreed with everything you wrote. I would also like to see Monica Crowley have her own show on FOX. She is intense, totally right on the issues, very smart and can discuss/debate with the best of them.

She has Ph.D., nternational Affairs Columbia University...

My favorite before Fox booted her was Andrea Tantaros...I put her and Crowley in the same class. Both are very good at being very quick and clever/intelligent answers on live television. Same as Kimberly Quillfoyle.

Hi you sound as frustrated as I was getting ideas to the Trump org. So I decided to start a blog and at least get my voice heard.

Just a thought, but if you like writing and getting your ideas out, I could consider letting you be a guest writer for my blog.

Its wwww.themainstreetview.com.....check it out, it has pretty good info on me and why I started the blog. There is no money involved, I don’t have any ads on the site. The cost of the site is not that much so I just pay it my self.

I have a technology background so that helped me put everything together.

So if you are interested let me know. You will notice that I write kinda “tight” with many links to provide more education for the readers. I research my post pretty good so that, that way a person my argue with my opinion, but all the factual stuff can be backed up. Let me know if you might be interested.

I am a good teacher and can help you with every aspect. All you would need to do is provide the content.

If you read some of my stuff...the question is can you write like that.....all you have to do is create and write
Do you know how to use a word processor such as Word?
I would take your work, format it for the blog, add some pics or quotes and get it out there like what you saw...
It would have your name or pen name on it...my pen name is
Mainstreeter.

It just depends if you want to have your views and opinions heard in depth and perhaps persuade others.
It’s like researching and writing a paper for a class or something like a book report.

It is a bit of work, but cool when its all done and you’re happy with it.

I can even give you some topics...I have lots of them.

Here is something than could make a good article..

“Hillary Helps Libyans, but not Mexicans”

Summary
Hillary claims Khaddafi was overthrown to free Libyans from a tyrant. We know that is a lie. But if she means it, why didnt she do anything to help the helpless entrapped citizens of Mexico. Why not go after tyrants and cartels right south of us and set those people free.

Here’s another one

Trump Fearless, Hillary Fearful and in Hiding
I’m sure you get that one.

so see what you think
