Like Bulgarian and Ukrainian Olympic judges back in Soviet Union days who gave American ice skaters a crummy score after a strong performance, on today’s Morning Joe Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough totally trashed Donald Trump on his visit with the Mexican president.
For not raising the issue of who would pay for the wall, Scarborough screamed “he choked! I can’t stand people that choke under pressure!” Brzezinski was reluctant to discuss the trip at all, dismissing Trump as a “fringe, alt-right Republican candidate . . . let’s not pretend this is some sort of foreign policy discussion. This is stupidity.”

Trump did not “ own” the Mexican president
I watched the entire presser and paid attention to body language
It was a civil mutually respectful diplomatic exchange
Very short but obviousky both men were well prepped
Both men were nationalistic about doing what is in the best interests of their countries and that is where trump will make progress
The press was on a leash
Someone tried to jump up and got a “ talk to the hand” from the Mexican security guys and calmed them right down
People crowing about Trump “ owning” the president if Mexico do damage to this fledgling new diplomatic relationship where the U.S. neither owns... Nor grovels
I would never waste my time watching those two a-holes.
I used to be nevertrump. I actually got temp-banned here for it. But I’m now a trump voter and what sealed the deal for me, if you could pin it on a single event, would be his press conference after meeting with the mexican president. He not only sounded presidential in his tone and demeanor, but the content - his actual words and message - was superb. I felt like I was back in the early 80’s where real, live statesmen held this kind of position.
