but if the current Congress unloads by the voters in the public marketplace there’s a good chance to start over & get rid of these Congressional critters who themselves leach off the very system designed for their constituents including term limits.

When I moved from Florida to Kentucky, I had my trusty 7-11 travel mug on the floor of the car, right behind the driver’s seat. But whereas Florida has at least one 7-11 store in every neighborhood, I quickly found out there aren’t any in Kentucky. The closest thing we have to 7-11 is a chain of gas stations called Thornton’s. So I guess I can’t vote.

That always pisses me off, the MSM was behind perpetually saddling republicans with red back in the early 90’s. The color association is probably worth a fraction of a percent of vote just because of the general association of red with evil and communism...

This is going to mess up the 7-11 cashier I recently dealt with. My favorite coffee was still brewing so I went to the register with the rest of my stuff and said I was also getting a medium coffee. She asked what color cup it was. She had no real clue about the product she was selling.

People always try to distance themselves from the bad connotations of names and associations they have become known by and try to co-opt those with better connotations. As soon as they tarnish one name, word, color, etc., they will move on to a new one that someone else has polished.

Think about all the different names we have gone through to refer to blacks or to the mentally retarded. (Not sure what the correct PC terms are today.) There is nothing wrong with belonging to either group, but for different reasons, both have acquired negative associations.

IMO, blue is now acquiring more of a negative association with communism and “progressivism” and red is not acquiring the association with hard work, productive conservatism.

And yes, I, too, find it irritating that they grab OUR symbols that we have worked hard to make honorable and try to rub off some of the luster onto themselves. It’s like when an American-hating liberal suddenly finds it beneficial to wrap himself in the flag.

Spot on, and come to think of it, blue probably lost a lot of its luster from association with the UN!

So, if I’m a Bush Neocon, which cup do I choose?

They need a cup for RINOs.

And one that says “I’m for Weiner’s Wife’s Lesbian Lover”.

The Libertarian coffee cup = whatever color you choose

The Green coffee cup = hand-made by indigenous people of Central America from 100 percent post-consumer, earth-friendly recycled materials

The Communist coffee cup = wait in line for four hours to buy it

The ISIS coffee cup = full of boiling oil in order to painfully kill the infidels
