Mark Levin aka "The Great One" has always been a great constitutional conservative and great friend of Free Republic. Doesn't post much anymore but has had an account here (holdonnow) from nearly the beginning. He stood up for FR when his good friend Hannity was running us down. Also when O'Reilly accused us of not moderating our forum good enough against racism.

I hate to see our good friend getting trashed on FR. I understand why people are upset with him over his position against Trump, but best advice I can give is if you can't stand him, don't listen. I had to quit listening to Beck several years ago after he went nuts, and now rarely tune in Limbaugh. I click on the Mark Levin Show, maybe once per week, just to see if our old trusted ally is back. Sadly, he's still missing in action.

I pray that Rush and Mark come to their senses pretty soon and realize that the primaries are over and the great constitutional conservative Ted Cruz lost. Badly.

We can't go back and we cannot replace our candidate. It's Trump or Hillary. We have to do all we possibly can to make sure Hillary is defeated! And that starts with not bad-mouthing OUR candidate.

There are no do overs and no crying in politics.

Notice that I said "OUR" candidate. This is not like when the GOPe with their big donor bucks installed one of their own sure-losers as the Republican candidate (McCain, Romney, et al) and then told us to suck it up. Which most of us did, even Levin and Limbaugh, because we knew the damage that Obama would do to our country. And he did. And Hillary's damage will be even more severe because she'll be building on Obama's slide into godless socialism and she'll have an immediate shot at packing the courts with godless liberal activists. These judges will be with us for a lifetime. And their rulings for generations. She'll also grant amnesty and voting rights to millions of illegals and throw open our borders to millions more. And then fling the borders wide open for the Muslims. Yup. Sharia law would be coming to a country near you. And the failing Obamacare? No problem. HillaryCare's single payer system will straighten that right out. And she'll save our planet from "climate change" by killing off all our capitalist industries.

Trump was voted in by we the rebellious grassroots voters who are sick and tired and fed up and said NO MAS to the political ruling class and their open borders donors.

This is a voter rebellion and Trump is OUR champion.

We fully intend to crush Hillary and the uniparty in November and reclaim America for AMERICANS!!

Why did we choose Trump to be our champion:

Secure the borders. Build the wall. Enforce the law. End sanctuary cities. Do whatever is humanly possible in deporting as many illegals as we possibly can and or dry up their prospects by enforcing the law and many of them will leave on their own volition.

Slap a temporary moratorium on Muslim immigration until we can find out what in the hell is going on! Meanwhile, bomb the shit out of ISIS. And take their oil. And find out what's going on in the mosques.

Rebuild the military!

Throw out Obama's illegal/unconstitutional executive orders and executive agreements. Repeal Obamacare!

Get a handle on trade deals and make sure Americans come first!

Cut the taxes, cut the spending, cut the regulations, cut the government; return the powers and functions reserved to the states back to the states per the constitution and the 10th amendment.

And it's not just about the constitution and national security:

End the ridiculous war on coal, gas & oil, bring back manufacturing. Drill, baby, drill; mine, baby, mine; build, baby, build, farm, baby, farm, produce, baby, produce. The Business of America is business.

Strengthen our economy and create a business friendly environment!

Jobs, baby, jobs!!

Set our people free and let them produce and prosper!!

This is the voter rebellion we've all been longing for. Even bigger than the tea party. Pray Levin and Rush join us. We need their full-throated support to ensure the defeat of the corrupt, America-hating, capitalism-hating, God-hating Hillary and the election of OUR candidate. Donald Trump!!

Ted Cruz, John McCain, Hillary, and others make the election about 'them' not we the people.... McCain is in such a pout over Trump's remarks about his service...not just a few of his fellow pilots said McCain should never have been entrusted with that $$$$government property....that's just opinion, but McCain has made this election just about him...he has had 30 years to secure the AZ border...Cruz does 'hold the line' on our constitution...but he is disingenuous about other issues....Trump has never been in politics...he is the consummate civilian the rest of the candidates are elected or appointed politicians.......with axes to grind..or as in HRC's case enormous baggage.

Give me the outsider any day...as he says..."what have you got to lose?" Only our country....that's what!!

I would just add for FReepers like me who lived through the first (and only I hope) Clinton Administration that a Hillary administration would be totally different. There would be no triangulating and no compromise with a Republican Congress. Hillary has made it crystal clear that if she wins it is a third Obama term - or worse. Her base has changed from the 90's and would not allow her to do anything else.

Mark Levin is wrong about trade period. He is an attorney. If I need an attorney’s opinion on a matter of economics, I will find one with an MBA. In the meantime my degrees in Business and Economics will do me quite well in fully understanding the problems with one sided trade deals.

I miss my ally and hero Levin. Many a night that my wife would hear me make a comment only to hear my “brother” Mark say the same thing moments later. I truly hope he recovers from his damaged pride and blindness. It hurts to see and hear it.

That aside, I voted for Cruz, but the barbarians are at the gate and it’s time to lock & load. The more these bastards hate on Trump, the more I’m his huckleberry. He’s right on a number of things: 2A, the Wall/immigration, taxes, law & order, the military, regulations, race, and more. It’s time to crush Hillary and her Leftist minions, whatever it takes. We’re in a fight to the the death for the survival of the American Republic and there’s no excuse for half measures or lack of commitment to Hillary’s defeat. PATRIOTS UNITE!

Sorry but Levin to me is a fool. His stand on the only and best person to lead America back from the dark is Trump. Levin is a jackass and he is too stubborn to realize he made a fool of himself. The primary is over. If you are not with Trump you are with Hillary. It’s that simple. Sad to say Levin makes his own Hillary enabling bed on a daily basis. He could be constructive in defeating Hillary Clinton but he choses not to. That is 100% on him and any criticism he gets is 100% deserved.

Mark Levin is struggling with compromising his conservative principles. Actually, the "struggle" -- the decision to be made -- is really not difficult at all, even to the most ardent conservative.

Whatever Mark Levin (and other like-minded conservatives) do this election they will compromise their conservative principles ... either by voting for Donald Trump (who they consider to be a flawed candidate with questionable -- at best -- conservative credentials) or by failing to defend our Constitution from the vicious and unrelenting attacks of the Left -- despite knowing that the only way they can do so this year is by voting for Donald Trump.

To me, the decision of which compromise to make is not difficult at all -- and, with but a few minutes of consideration -- is hardly a "struggle". Even a "casual conservative" knows that defense of our Constitution -- of our Republic -- is the primary principle of conservatism and the most important duty of a conservative voter.

You are a good friend, Jim, and you have the courage of your convictios. My best friend of over 60 years and I disagree about politics. It matters not to either of us. She is entitled to her opinion. It does not mean one of us is wrong and the other right. It simply means we disagree. I respect her right to her own opinion and she shows me the same respect. I still consider Levin a friend of ours and I am sure he feels the same about you.

I held my nose and voted for Dole, Romney, and John McCain (a man I most truly loathe and detest) because the alternatives would do (and, in fact, DID do) incalculable damage to the American Republic. None of them would have been my preferred candidate in those races.

The fact that Mr. Levin is not mature enough to accept the same argument and do likewise is very disturbing on many levels.

Don’t like it, don’t listen...

This is where I am. Anyone who claims to be a conservative who cannot see the looming disaster of a Hillary presidency is someone whose broadcasts have nothing to offer. Hitler came to power when certain German politicians banded against other politicians to keep them out of power. The compromise chancellor turned out to be Hitler. Anyone whose hatred of the outsider Trump is so great that they think the country can survive a Hillary presidency has nothing of value to offer as prognosticators, scribes, teachers, or whatever they think they are. The pupils are now the teachers. We no longer need those guys.

Levin got too entrenched too early. He kind of got stuck in the tar and couldn’t get out of it. Of course, he was not the only one. But he has said some positive things about Trump’s positions — just not Trump. It is my opinion that Rush was too ambiguous but it served him well and he is still the highest ratings by far. I admit that I bashed Levin in frustration but as you point out so well, we need to rally in this fight together. It is far too important for entrenchment on both sides of the party.
I loved the movie Braveheart. The analogy I point to now is the big battle with the English . The Establishment ( the “Nobles”) show up to fight but things start to deteriorate from fear of the large numbers of the English across the battlefield and the lack of a bond between the commoner force and the Nobles . Some of them are yelling for everyone to leave and “go home” . “It’s not worth it”, Then you see Sir William Wallace thundering in on horse gesturing wildly and spinning his horse in front of the wavering forces. His speech is too long for here but in essence he reminds them of their families and land and the opportunity that they will never have again to stand together in battle. Thus is our situation now. It is not to far for me to suggest that our “William Wallace” is Donald Trump and he and we must come together as commoner and establishment or we will never have another chance. “I’ll meet you in the middle”, Sir William says before they fight. Let us “meet in the middle” and crush the criminal hillary together.

Yes, it was a superpac supporting Cruz that put out an early modeling photo of Melania Trump. That was in March. Cruz said that he can't control the PACs.
