Yes, we can deport our 12 million plus illegal immigrants, by following the lessons provided by Operation Wetback in the 1950s.

We won’t have to deport them. Just make the fine for hiring them so severe that no one will hire them. Also, cut off welfare, food stamps, and all other government benefits and they will go home.

What really irritates me is people that think during a round-up all illegals are just going to fold their arms, plant their feet and say "I'm not moving until you come and get me." No.

As each illegal alien is processed, be sure to put their file with fingerprints and all into a big file cabinet that they can see marked "Never to be given citizenship or allowed into the USA again" in English and Spanish.

The word will spread and many will leave on their own.

Why wouldn’t we be able to deport 12 million people?

Mexico did it.

Good catch !! Personally I’d give them 60 days to leave and on day 61 it’s open season. I think they’ll leave.

Tax all money wired to Mexico 25%. If the Mexican government howls, ban such transactions altogether.

Our political leaders have been giving the self deportation lip service for decades now. It does not work. It’s an organized criminal operation involving business and government that promises illegals will stay put.

They have to be rounded up and deported.

If 12 million illegals can be deported or encouraged to leave we might as well send the other 15 or 20 million packing as well!

Strawman. No one I know is arguing that it is physically impossible to deport 12 M. The problems are with the courts, the media, and Mexico.

Suppose you started tomorrow.

How many years to get through all the court filings to stop the deportation? We simply didn’t have all the various feel good groups willing to file cases to stop/slow down the deportation back when Ike was prez.

How long before the nightly dose of crying mothers and screaming kids on the 5 PM news being separated from their families and carried off to Mexico reaches the point that the people demand that it be stopped?

Then, what you going to do if Mexico refuses to allow the buses/trucks/planes carrying these deportees to enter their country? While the media films the deportees stuck at the border?

Shouldn't the reversal of illegal immigration be called "Operation Dryback"? :)

We can deport the whole lot of them despite the nay-saying of squishes like Rush Limbaugh. SoCal has ceased to be part of America in large swathes and anything short of deportation will condemn the rest of the country to the same fate. It’s only a matter of how soon, not if.

“We won’t have to deport them. Just make the fine for hiring them so severe that no one will hire them. Also, cut off welfare, food stamps, and all other government benefits and they will go home.”

The cost of doing that is prohibitive. Cheaper to offer every family $3,000 and their choice of a bus or plane ticket. They will all be gone within 6 months. If you would rather stay, you must have an American business sponsor you and you had to be working for that business for more than a year. They can pay the $3,000 to the government for each year the illegal “AND” family was in country.

it starts at the top. Obama/Holder let it be known far and wide not only would they NOT enforce immigration laws, they would accept waves of illegals for their debt-funded nanny state.

So, start by saying all immigration laws will be enforced.

Deport all illegal criminals immediately

Make public examples of some businesses employing illegals. Punish sanctuary cities hard.

Make extreme tests for welfare, healthcare, etc... to exclude illegals.

I guarantee you - illegals will be rushing to deport themselves.

Illegals have no sovereign right to be in any country other than the nation-state of their birth; a concept framed by the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648.
Can we deport them? Absolutely.
Will we? Not if the left holds power.

IMHO I think what Trump is going to do is issue something along the line of “Green Cards” after they have been deported and want back into the country.

If I see that 11 to 12 million number tossed out again, I'm going out in the back and howl at the moon.

Corrected immigration figures for the 2000 Census, pegged illegal immigrants in country at 9 million.  Those people entered the nation in the ten years after the 1986 immigration amnesty ended.

That's 900,000 a year during that period, but we're supposed to think Less than 133,000 came over every year since.

Folks, we have at least 30 million illegal immigrants in country.  We may have as high as 40 to 50 million.

Our political leaders have been giving the self deportation lip service for decades now. It does not work.

Have you considered that perhaps self deportation's not working specifically because it's only been given lip service for decades? It will take more than lip service to make self deportation work.

You are correct. When there’s no work for them, they go home.

During WWI and WWII our government, put into effect, the
Braceo Program. The Mexicans were brought here, mainly, to work on farms and ranches. Some Mexicans became part of work forces on large farms and ranches, but would go home at the end of their season, then return the next year, until the season ended. This went on for many years with no problems.
