49ers preparing to put Colin Kaepernick ‘on ice’ in 2016?

At least two prominent NFL reporters believe the San Francisco 49ers could pull a RG3 on quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who could be protected in 2016 so the 49ers can save millions against injuries guarantees next offseason.

Albert Breer of MMQB became the latest national reporter to weigh in on Kaepernick Thursday morning.

“Colin Kaepernick’s injury history, combined with the heavy injury guarantees in his contract, would be a motivator to put him on ice for the year if the team isn’t sold he’ll rebound in Chip Kelly’s offense,” Breer wrote. “The Redskins pulled something similar last year—they knew Robert Griffin III wasn’t their guy, so they didn’t risk putting him on the field and triggering his 2016 injury guarantee.”

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk openly wondered the same idea on Monday.

“Absent a trade or a willingness to pay Kaepernick a lot of money to go away, the 49ers have the RGIII option at their disposal,” Florio said. “That would entail putting Kaepernick on the bench and keeping him in bubble wrap so that, come 2017, they won’t be strapped with a fully-guaranteed $14.5 million obligation that can’t be avoided before April 1 if he’s injured, again.”

Unless Chip Kelly fully believes in Kaepernick moving forward (and that’s a debatable premise, given his current standing in a starting battle with Blaine Gabbert, of all quarterbacks), the 49ers could protect themselves by shelving the former second-round pick as a third-stringer and then cutting Kaepernick before his $14.5 million becomes fully guaranteed on April 1st of 2017. Of course, if he’s injured at that time, the 49ers won’t have the option.

The Redskins played the same card on RG3 last season. After he suffered a concussion during the preseason, Washington all but shut down his season—stashing him behind Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy to protect him from another injury. His healthy season allowed the Redskins to part ways without the financial repercussions of his fifth-year, injury-guaranteed salary kicking in.

A tricky balancing act awaits the 49ers over the next few weeks. Kaepernick has been out while dealing with a “dead arm” issue, which has robbed Kelly and his staff of valuable time in the evaluation process. At some point soon, the 49ers will need to decide if Kaepernick is worth risking during the 2016 season. Then again, the franchise has 14,500,000 million reasons to stash him on the bench and set up a clean divorce next offseason.

She does not look to be a true practitioner of sharia law. Her hubby to be best beat some sense into her.

So if he is muzzie and his girlfriend is, how does he know what she looks like?

by saying it’s his freedom of expression not to stand.
= = = = = = = = = = =
This is what happens when you get lawyers involved in EVERYTHING

On the same hand wouldn’t wouldn’t it be my freedom of expression to use the ‘N’ word if I desired?

NFL forbade (or tried to) the ‘N’ on their facilities and properties BUT the Black Players Association(I might have made that up) said NFL was discriminating against BLACK players because the Blacks were the ONLY one to use the word, so NFL banning it was discriminatory.

It was also ‘suggested’ at one time that if a Woman’s body was her ‘temple’ and she should be allowed to choose whether to murder what she is carrying —

Using that premise the wonk suggested that using that train of thought, prostitution should be ok since a woman is in charge of her body and nobodys business what she does with it.

A skinny Andrew Hernandez, with religion, but without the street cred. I wonder what his future holds, tho I doubt it holds much football.

Every veteran in the US is thinking that putting him on ice for “just one year” is not enough. Anti-American BLM motivated rant and actions. I plan to ban the 49’s from my home until he is off the team.

He would be a target for incoming from the sidelines. His teammates could end up as collateral damage.

I went to NFL.com and sent a compliant and about CK and told them I dropped the NFL Channel and would not allow a 49’ers game on my TV; that I would not subscribe until he out of the league, and that I do not go to the theater for liberal movie stars.

Agreed. If they sideline him, he seems to be just the kind of POS that would stage an injury to collect.

The world has also seen her Calvin Klein undies.

After getting it on with Kaepernick and team mate Aldon Smith at the same time, you’d think she wouldn’t pass the virginity or honor test.

Even with the best of parents, kids and young adults can turn on them in a split second and throw everything they were ever taught in the dirt and spit on it. His parents probably feel like he’s kicked them in the gut.

With Nessa’s headlights, he’s not thinking with the head his shoulders are holding up.

You dont deserve the privilege to play in the NFL or more important wear my flag on your helmet. And save your apology for your BLM girlfriend. Hope your white family is really proud of you.

After the first week, fans gave Michael Vick a pass on his dog fighting. Even today, it’s all “ooooh, he’s paid his due so let’s play some football!”

Look at all the NFL druggies and wife beaters. Pat them on the head and send them onto the field with cheers from the crowd.

You and I would be disgraced forever.
