TRUMP'S BLACK SUPPORT EXPLODES IN BIGGEST BATTLEGROUND STATE [overall T-43 C-41]

GOP nominee Donald Trump is experiencing an eye-popping surge in support among black Americans in Florida – the biggest prize of all the battleground states – according to a new poll.

Trump has attracted the backing of a full 20 percent of black Americans in Florida, a poll by Florida Atlantic University and the Economics Polling Initiative found.

The survey, conducted Aug. 19-22 and released Wednesday, shows Democrat Hillary Clinton winning the support of 68 percent of Florida’s black voters.

Trump took an overall lead in the state, 43 to 41 percent, within the poll’s 2.7 percent margin of error.

While Clinton takes the largest share of African-American voters, Trump’s numbers are noteworthy because Republican candidates have failed to capture more than 13 percent of the black vote in the state in at least 24 years:

In 1992, President George H.W. Bush received just 10 percent of the black vote in Florida.

In 1996, Sen. Bob Dole won only 9 percent of the black vote in Florida.

In 2004, President George W. Bush captured just 13 percent of the black vote in Florida.

In 2008, Sen. John McCain secured just 4 percent of the black vote in the state.

In 2012, Gov. Mitt Romney won 4 percent of the black vote.

President Obama barely won the Sunshine State in 2012 by just more than .9 percent. The state has 4.4 million registered Republicans, 4.6 million Democrats and 3 million independents.

Frankly, the best focus in Black communities should be on law & order. There is a large element, who do not want to take the risk of openly denouncing the Obama/Clinton interference with good police work, who would still respond to a demand that we get Washington out of the business of harassing local police just trying to protect the law abiding citizens.

Hence the multiple "If you support a bigot, you are also a bigot" thing. Apparently this racist or bigotry labeling doesn't work well with these black voters any more. And I hope more than just blacks, but Trump's message also work on other minority groups that are traditional Dem voting blocks, too.

Well, I am one of those Florida Independents having left the GOP in 2007 because of crony crap that is coming out now in Trump campaign. It’s called NPA..which is acronym for No Party Affililiation.
Now I assume if you put together the normal GOP vote from the past...ad a huge amount from those independents throw in the Cuban hispanics and this 20% of the Black vote....TRUMP will crush Hitlery in Florida... I predict more than the 2% in this poll.

Thank you. I feel better already. Also interesting is that fact that Trump is clobbering Hillary by 23 points in the 35-54 year old demographic. The only other age group where she more than a few point lead is the over 75 set.

While I realize there are a lot of those in Florida, can you imagine what will happen if the same demographic breakdowns exhibit similar behavior in places like Ohio and Pennsylvania?

I lived in Florida for many years and the blacks that I knew there were good people who wanted to raise their families like everyone else. Many were ex-military and as patriotic as anyone else.

Their dalliance with Obama is regrettable but understandable. They will have no such allegiance to Hillary.

Trump will get almost all of the “American” votes. The outcome depends on if more voters consider themselves “Black-American”, “Mexican-American”, “Other-oppressed-American”, than consider themselves “American”. Oppressed-Americans want someone to punish their oppressors so they will vote D since Rs don’t divide people into mostly imaginary oppressed/oppressor groups and when there is a real problem they will help the oppressed, not punish the oppressors.

This sounds like Trump’s been making that conversion in voters from “Oppressed-American” to “American” in FL. Hopefully it will continue across the US and he’ll win a landslide.
