While it would not surprise me if the administration broke it down into $99,999,999.99 into smaller amount to skirt the law, I suspect it is a more practical reason and the wire system could not handle amounts higher than that. I am guessing there are limitations from “when that was a lot of money”.

Isn’t that INSANE? I couldn’t make a $10K BUSINESS DEPOSIT into my local bank without them getting all jiggy with it for fear I was a drug cartel!
