Odd that a British paper is publishing this. I am sure that the New York Times and Washington Post will beat themselves up when the see this scoop in an overseas paper.
NOT!!
Great find. I did not read nor did i hear of this.
It is more of a statement, like the gentleman says, because they can pour in around it.
But maybe, just maybe, those illegals that would have entered there and dont now might have gone on to kill someone in NM.
Good for NM!!
Ah, the DDR. Glad it’s gone.

News that American news minions won’t touch. Headline should be:
Is this what sovereign America’s new borders could look like?
Local article from the Albuquerque Journal
Notice the title already informs you that you must feel sad about the wall ..."apprehension"
It took 10 years.
I am painfully aware of that. I spent a couple of days in the DDR in ‘81. Being there made you feel like your were holding your breath. There was a pervasive atmosphere or fear and despair there. upon re-entering West Germany all the people in my party visibly relaxed.

Walls can be used both ways, depending on which way the guards are facing. The difference is who (now and in the future) will be in charge of the wall.
My suggestion!
Now they just need to electrify it. Touch it, you’re toast!
There’s a really expensive and not very good museum in DC dedicated to “journalists.” It’s called the newseum and is a huge pat on the back self-admiration society to all those heroic journalists.
But, that aside, by far the best display they have is a 40’long section of the Berlin Wall.
Looking at it, one can easily distinguish the difference between a totalitarian and a democratic society. On the West side, the wall is 100% covered with layers of graffiti. The East side is pristine concrete.
I told my kids that’s all you need to know about communism. Approach the wall with a Sharpie and die.
The new rust-colored steel columns an $11 million project authorized by the Secure Fence Act of 2006
It took 10 years.

Like the New York City skating rink until Trump came along!
“Chain-liked”. It’s even better than chain-linked!
From a place you’ll never see, comes a sound you’ll never hear.
Your suggestion would certainly reduce repeat offenders. I suspect it would not get approved though.
They can only be used “the other way” if the American people are disarmed first.
Ain’t gonna happen.
Nobody is going to work as a border guard keeping Americans “in” because they will be plinking targets to out past 1,000 yards. And all the way up the chain of command to the POTUS and every .gov stooge in between.
Everybody knows that Switzerland has not been invaded in many centuries. It also has not had a tyrant. No job security in being a tyrant or a tyrant’s stooge in a country with uncountable numbers of scoped deer rifles that can blow holes in 200# mammals out past 500 yards.
