Does it cost extra to take the express to Hell?
If this were the Reagan administration there would be a correlation.
Wasn’t there just an article on this site saying we didn’t need AC?
One of the main highways in Louisville was at a dead stop on a hot day a couple of weeks ago. Apparently the school buses didn’t have air conditioning and they were so hot inside that some method was concocted to get the kids out of the buses and off the highway, as the traffic continued to not move.
I hate the whole commuting concept in a world where telecommuting is totally practical and doable.
I’d smash somebody if they said to me the ROASTING cars were sensual.
Took them for years and the platform is unbearable in the summer. Sick or elderly could quickly die down there.
A hot subway car? With no AC? Have NEVER been on one in my 20 years of going to Manhattan (haven’t for the least 8) and can’t IMAGINE it.
Obama never got his wish of wiping out ACs in the country.
Looking back, thank goodness he was so lazy or he could have done even MORE damage.
And then there’s John Kerry who says AC is more dangerous than ISIS.
You couldn’t pay me enough to ride a germ filled nasty NY subway. No thanks, I’ll keep driving my own air conditioned vehicle from my garage and park it within feet from my destination.
Wow, it’s hot in NYC during the summer? Who knew?
In a country that has an AGING population due to advances in (face it) medical care, we have idiots who decry the ready availability of EVIL air conditioning.
Do these “do-gooding” idiots realize that it is the very ability to excape extremes of heat that enable thousands of elderly to just remain alive?
The LIBS would have us experience the catastrophic events of France a few summers ago, when a record heat was the cause of thousands of people (of all ages) dying in oven-like apartments that had no cooling devices. Hospitals and emergency stations were just overwhelmed.
Me, I’m clinging to my A/C. Guess I’m just selfish.
I used to ride the hot subways of NYC back in the summer of ‘83. Hey its hotter in Tx where I now live.. although lately its below avg heat-— Gorebull warming dontchyaknow.
Wow that’s even hotter than a sauna!
The AC is one of the constant problems with cars along with the door mechanism. I wonder if that has anything to do with going with the car builder with the lowest bid. If nothing else they have to run. Anything beyond that is optional.
Car building is a low margin business. The riders are the ones that get to do the BOHICA.
Are peeps forced to live in NYC?
It’s really sensual when you’re sweating, greasy & stinking. Gag!!!!!
I’m thinking there used to be a way to measure “hot”; something about degrees.
“Inside a hot car on the No. 1 line on Sunday, Kelvia Rosario was worried that her brothers birthday cake was going to melt. Ms. Rosario, 33, of Washington Heights, had set the cake on a subway seat, along with a picnic basket and a jumble of balloons. It was too much to move, so she waited it out on the warm car, her frustration growing.”
Somehow I can’t work up much sympathy for this lady.

The weather today is delightful. Next.
Awwww, poor snowflakes. According to Accuweather: temp in NYC now- 78, heat index 82. Here in N.O. area- temp 91, heat index 113! The snowflakes will have crisp fall weather in Sept and Oct- we will STILL be sweltering! But then- these were the ‘victims’ of “Superstorm Sandy”, that put a few inches of water on the streets of NYC. Traumatic!
