While it is not exactly clear what public relations goals the privately-owned Fed (recall Bernanke's Former Advisor: "People Would Be Stunned To Know The Extent To Which The Fed Is Privately Owned") hoped to achieve by launching its first Facebook page last Thursday, the resultant outpouring of less than euphoric public reactions suggest this latest PR effort may have been waster at best, and at worst backfired at a magnitude that matches JPM's infamous #AskJPM twitter gaffe.
Here are some examples of the public responses to the Fed's original posting: they all share a certain uniformity...

Wonderful comments!
It’s hard to believe the Fed thought this was a good idea. Outreach? Really?
I hope trump picks up the baton.
:-)
This is precisely the reason why the internet is being passed off to another entity.
They want it to be managed so this sort of thing will never happen again.
Good-bye free speech. Nice knowing you while it lasted.
Talking about “clean up” at the FED.
How about “We’re FED UP WITH THE FED”?
Oh I’m sure the feds fully intended to get trolled.
That website right there is an information gathering tool.
I see some IRS audits in the future of some folks at the very least, or maybe being put on a “no-fly” list or terrorist watch list.
I was just booted off of facebook for refusal to give them a government picture ID. They didn’t like the notion apparently that I had no personal information given, I was logged into as a nickname I’ve had since boot-camp in 65’, have no cookies enabled, and use a tor proxy service.
I won’t feed the feds any information about my opinions on their crooked corrupt bureaucracy.
One thing I learned from “anonymous”, if they don’t know who you are exactly, they can’t exert control over you.
(my twitter was also suspended early last week as well)
+1 :-)
I’ve always thought he was put on the 20 for spite by the banking industry for his loathing and actions to tame them. Now I’m all for him staying on it because libtards want him off...
Ah, the unintended consequences...
The Fed facebook page going dormant in 3, 2, 1...
Heckuva job there, Feddie!
No need to disrespect Harriet Tubman to make a valid point. She risked everything for a worthy cause. Others have since perverted that cause, but that's on them.
