“This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign. I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today, and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and convention process. Paul is a true professional and I wish him the greatest success.”

Paul Manafort lives in the same Trump Tower as Donald and family. He has known Donald and the family for more than 30 years and is very close to them. He is in effect part of the extended family. He is wealthy and retired, did not in any way need the job.

His role was to shore up delegates in the face of the nevertrumper efforts. Now that he has fulfilled his mission. he wants to go back to being retired and following his own pursuits.

I’ve been around political campaigns, federal and State, and there is nothing bad about this. Sometimes it takes one person to get so far and overcome certain obstacles, but then it takes another person to get through the next segment of the race.

Agreed. I like the idea that a Trump administration will clear out the folksy, sentimental attachment to LOSERS we’ve been indulging in for decades. Hillary is a perfect example of the ultimate government leech, and we’re so used to seeing her it’s almost like she’s an old friend/enemy. What will we DO without her? Lol.

Exactly.

Manafort did exactly what Trump hired him to do, to keep his delegates committed through the voting process at the convention and deliver the nomination. And now that that job is done, Manafort's expertise and forte with primary delegates is essentially over. This is not a surprise.

Great job Paul Manafort. Good luck in the future.

If HRC is giddy she is even more stupid than I thought. There is no better person to direct a campaign against a woman than another woman.

Kellyanne Conway is going to bring her down.

There was a piece from 4/23/2015 in the NYT, “Cash FLowed to Clinton Foundation Amid Russian Uranium Deal”. The Clintons got more money than Manafort supposedly did.

It is nice to know that I am not by myself in that. Just cannot understand that.

Excellent analogy! Manafort did a great job at his specialty, but now other skills are needed.

Trump understands that there are many parts to this campaign, like building a sky scrapper, the company doing the foundation isn’t going to be the same company doing the steel skeleton, the company doing the skeleton isn’t going to be the same company doing the electrical work, the company doing the electrical work isn’t going to be doing the plumbing

But you will have a person managing the entire project through all phases. That was, until today, Manafort.

Actually, that person is Donald Trump

Just because Hillary is an ineffective manager, doesn’t make Trump one as well

True most politicians couldn’t manage a dairy queen, but why do keep electing people to management position that can’t manage?

Trump is his own manager

Don’t forget that

Agree! Manafort, but who are the other two guys, and why are they in the same photo?

Let's hope the poster of the photo will come bob, bob, bobba-looin' along some time today to solve the mystery of the two dorks with Manafort.

The two look somehow familiar, don't they?

Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, (the late) Lee Atwater

Stone sorta looks like he’s auditioning for the role of Mr Spock...

Great vintage photo.

Three book-ish guys who rose to the tops of their professions.

Manafort is single and a multi-millionaire, ladies. I got a kick out of a poll on another website, the question being "Is Paul Manafort Hot or Not?"

The results, 66% said he's "hot" while 34% voted "not"

He's a nice looking young man in the above photo. He's 67 now, but he still has those bedroom eyes, LOL.
