An autistic American Indian says an official with President Barack Obamas White House assaulted him for wearing a Redskins shirt during an October 2015 trip to Washington, D.C. The man says he plans to sue the Obama White House official for the cost of his medical bills to treat injuries he sustained during an alleged beating over a Redskins shirt.
Barrett Dahl, an Oklahoma college student, was wearing a Redskins shirt to visit the White House for a powwow last October when William Mendoza, the executive director of the White House Initiative of American Indian and Alaska Native Education
[snip] Mendoza is of the Oglala-Sicangu Lakota people, and an appointee dealing with Native American affairs in the Department of Education.
He is an opponent of organizations like the Redskins using Native American people as mascots.
Dahl, from Oregon, is part of the Sac and Fox Nation. He said he wore a sweater with the team's controversial logo because he felt 'cultural pride' while at the Pow Wow on October 30 last year.

William Mendoza must be on Loretta Lynch's (BHO) list to stop Free Speech in any form.....do hope this bureaucrat gets his 'comeuppance' i.e., taken off the taxpayer dole and shown the door.

If I visit the WH before he leaves office I will (but I’d rather not) wear a Redskins shirt and my Hillary for Prison hat.
I’m a Cowboys fan but this PC garbage is ridiculous.

Obama is the reason I became a Redskins fan.
Kirk Cousins is why I remain a Redskins fan. :-)

Polling has always shown that sports team with NA names are the most popular with Native Americans. The leaders use the issue to raise money. If all teams changed their names, would NA be helped in any way? Any less drug abuse, alcoholism, teen pregnancy, drop out rate, etc.

“Choctaw Man”
“Dahl, from Oregon, is part of the Sac and Fox Nation”
Sac and Fox were in the midwest. Choctaw were from the Southeast. Both ended up deported to Oklahoma. Limeys can’t keep their story straight?
(Choctaws were one of the 5 civilized tribes. Sac and Fox weren’t).

The concept of sovereign nation within a nation is unacceptable. Either you’re an American, or you’re not.

Why did you snip the part where the article describes the assault? Isn’t that the meat of the story?

Mendoza ... is an opponent of organizations like the Redskins using Native American people as mascots. Why stop with mascots. Ban all uses of "Native American" names, words and images. All states, cities, towns and geographical features with "NA" names must be re-named. Eliminate all forms of reference to the "First Peoples."
