Pennsylvania's first elected female attorney general announced her resignation Tuesday, a day after being convicted of abusing the powers of the state's top law enforcement office to smear a rival and lying under oath to cover it up.

Democrat Kathleen Kane's exit completes a spectacular fall for the former county prosecutor who soared to victory four years ago as an outsider promising to break up an "old-boys' network" in state government. She squandered her early popularity, feuded with rivals and aides and ultimately was undone by what prosecutors portrayed as a personal vendetta against her critics and perceived enemies.

I haven’t followed the case in deatil, and was making a disparaging remark about justice in general. If the appelate court likes the defendant, the defendant walks on whatever pretext she or her lawyer advance.

LOL. That's for sure. I wasn't aware of her jihad agianst judges. In that case, even if her conviction was legal error, the appeals court would probably uphold it!

I saw this yesterday in a different article. What struck me in the judges comments he admonished Kane (and her supporters) to not visit revenge on any of the jurors!

It is a chilling thought that such juror retribution needs to specifically addressed. If one cannot be a juror without concern for home and hearth, who will become a juror?

The judiciary does not like to be attacked, from either side, left or right. They know that if she gets away with this, then the next prosecutor, who might not be of the same political stripe as she or the judges, will do the same thing, so she must go.................
