Well-meaning laws designed to nab high-level criminals have been twisted to siphon off money from law-abiding American citizens. The latest abuse of civil asset forfeiture laws involves air and rail travelers being targeted and fleeced by a federal agency. The Drug Enforcement Administration is pulling Americans travel data en masse from airline and Amtrak records, profiling individuals with suspicious travel habits, and targeting them for searches as part of the nations drug interdiction efforts.
Welcome to Nazi-America.
They will keep on suppressing your freedoms one at a time.
Same here if I can’t drive and take my gun, I’m not going. I refuse to subsidize the airlines or the NKVD, eh TSA.
If you are not a criminal you will be made to be one eventually by the beast.
A survival strategy of sheep is safety in numbers.
They use presumption to get around that.
It's based on the computer profiling in the article. They get to "presume" you're doing something wrong based on their "approved" computer models. It's probably still illegal, but it would take a law firm and a lot of money to research how exactly they're crossing the line.
Sucks, but it's better to know that then try to fight out on that level. It's still smart to never give permission, WHILE complying.
Where’s the link?
I am all in for Trump this election but let's not assume too much. As a business man he never had any problem with the use of eminent domain to advance his projects, for example. Unless he specifically says he wants to fix a specific problem, much as I might wish it were so I'm not assuming he has it as a priority.
Searches may typically be performed at the airport, or at roadside checkpoints, or as a result of a "routine traffic stop".
Any sizable amount of cash may be seized by the police simply on their declaration. They may take other valuables as well, such as gold, jewelry, pre-paid gift cards - or your vehicle. They do not have to arrest or charge you with anything.
The seized assets are usually given to the police department.
If you are selected for this party, you must sue the Government and prove that the seized assets were obtained through lawful activities in order to get them back. That will generally cost more than the value of the assets - and you won't get reimbursed for your legal fees, even if you win.
You may wonder what happened to your 4th amendment protection against "unreasonable search and seizure". The answer is that the Government simply ignores all of those inconvenient constitutional limitations.
and Profiling terrorists is Forbidden
I agree ... but that is just one issue that he used once (as far as I know) to accomplish a business end ... which had nor has ANYTHING to do with fixing and running a nation.
A phone and a pen. Or so we have been told.
Can we really say “Amtrak data” and “en mas” in the same sentence?
Here is the link friends:
Don’t you know that it’s suspicious when someone doesn’t do anything suspicious? Obviously they must be guilty of something if they’re going to so much trouble to look innocent! Therefore they need to be arrested, humiliated, and made to answer for their crimes!
Were I POTUS for a day, I'd sweep the white house with drug dogs after the Mullah and fam departs. TV cameras at the ready too.
good training exer for DEA
Didn’t the wasted money, multiple deaths, and DISMAL results of prohibition teach America ANYTHING?!?
The war on drugs is like MOST government solutions: sounds great on paper; is a complete waste of time, money, and other resources in action.
People who want a “high” will do whatever it takes to get that high (i.e., sniff glue, paint, snort and smoke common household cleaners, etc...).
I’m sorry, but the government should not be trying to keep me safe from ME, they should only be trying to keep YOU safe from me (like drunk driving IS illegal, but drinking alcohol is NOT). Let’s regulate the bad actions which affect others, not the “potential” to cause harm to others.
Just my two cents!
Wait,
That’s “Tricky White Man Talk”
How many nazis broke the law on krystalnacht?
Anslingers slavery laws need to be repealed. The addicts will soon drop like flies. Problem solved.
Yeah but the DEA keeps those violent pot smokers at bay.
