Ugh... Wait a minute:

Smith’s mother, Haynes, said her son had recently gotten his conceal-carry license because he had been shot twice and robbed four times – and was stripped of all his clothes during one robbery.

Okay now. He was charged with "recklessly endangering" - we have no specifics (very suspicious) and that can be very bad or way over-charging for a plea agreement. The "witness intimidation" was his girl friend calling the witness twice.

So, humor me here.... he has no convictions of any kind and no reports of belonging to a gang. For a black youth in the city, that ain't bad. Add to that his ability to obtain a carry permit... well, that ain't bad either.

So, what we are left with is the fact that he was legally able to carry a handgun - which is key information that all the newsie sites conveniently withhold (sounds like he is getting Trump'd)

For me, unless I see the police body cam I am going to restrain making any judgment on this at all.
