I sure do miss Page’s posts. And the love story for him and Marlene is beautiful. I often wonder if he’d still be with us if able to travel to the U.S. Very sad.

Connecticut went from 'Open for Business' to...

"BAD for Business" very quickly with Gov Malloy.

I'm glad Trump isn't listening to advice, and is campaigning in every state! CT is a perfect example of why.

CT is a well-educated state, with a situation where it has been decimated by the actions of both political parties. They didn't take the loss of manufacturing seriously enough, instead let gambling balance their budget until out-of-state competition and a general decline in gambling revenue shattered that piggy bank. The state is so bad, it's in a death spiral. Trump has strong ties to CT, and Manafort is from there. Manafort's Route 8 strategy for the primary was brilliant! Put it all together, and I'd think logically Trump can win in CT. (I hope someone in the campaign reads this stuff I post),

I'm from Danbury/Bethel, HS in the early 1960s. It is a traumatic experience to pass through "home" and see the decimation that's happened to what was once a wonderful place to grow up in!

Good Morning, nikos and all....

What a nice thing to do - I have teared up a few times when I think of WV, and especially how poor Marlene must be at this time.

Will be away helping daughter with her farm market, but back (hopefully) in time for the rally. I always seem to be catching the re-runs lately!

I don’t know the answer to your question.

Nikos, thanks again for our daily thread(bread?!) and bless you for dedicating this thread to Page Noe, our friend.

I would love to do the trivia, as I have missed this portion of our Trump Rally threads. How you work AND do these threads is amazing. Thank you.

I have been in touch with Page’s friend, Mark17, and also Marlene, Page’s wife.

Marlene has been put in an awful situation as a new widow.

Seems that Page’s hospital bill came to $2,500, or 116,000 Philippine pesos. Marlene does not have the money.

So the hospital refuses to issue a death certificate to her until they are paid in full.

The funeral home, to which the hospital released the body, refuses to do a cremation until they receive a death certificate.

So, Marlene is in a Catch-22 right now.

Mark17 is doing what he can. Marlene has been rebuffed in her attempts to deal with the local government officials to intervene. She is also contacting Page’s oldest son in the States, as Page had three children, for help.

Marlene certainly does not deserve this burden, but she, in her Christian faith, is trying to work through it.

She and Mark17’s wife, Menierva, who is Marlene’s sister, are making another attempt to convince the hospital to release the death certificate.

What Marlene needs now is our prayers for intervention and for resources.Page did not have a lot of money, and Marlene’s family is very poor.

We pray for Trump and Pence, everyday, so I am asking our fellow Trump Train passengers to pray for Marlene today.

Mark17 is on the job, and Marlene checks FR using Page’s handle, WVKayaker. I have asked Mark to keep us informed.

Things are different in the Philippines, and the corruption is more evident than it is here in the US. Being a woman in this society also makes it more difficult for Marlene to prevail.

I cannot imagine being a new widow and being in this situation must be like.

With our prayers and with our Lord, Marlene will prevail.

Maybe we are part of the solution—but we have to see how the situation unfolds.

What we all can do today is pray for Marlene, and for her to prevail, and that resources are released for her.

The local church and friends and family are involved, but they have very little.

Here on earth, Page was a born again Christian. Now, he is alive with Jesus Christ.

Our Lord owns the cattle on a thousand hills, the Bible tells us. Let us pray to Him for Divine intervention.

I am pinging some of Page’s friends on the Religion forum pages as well.

Jim, perhaps this can be Page’s tribute thread for the Freeper Memorial Wall.

Thanks to all. Page was a special member of our Trump community. He turned to us for help in his final battle.
Let us remember him well.

Nikos, if you could ping our members to this post, I would appreciate it.

To the contrary, John Mayer is one of the biggest womanizers in all of entertainment. He’s pretty much had them all. You’re Body is a Wonderland is written about Jessica Simpson.

Good morning all!

Won’t be here much this morning.

We are having a team roping event @ the arena dedicated to our 49 yr. old cousin who died way too young from pulmonary fibrosis.

She will be forever in our hearts.

Looking forward to reading all the commentary from all of you who are much more enlightened than I.

Thanks for the thread. This time I will be an active participant as I will be attending (or at least trying to attend) tonight's rally. I do have tickets but that does not mean guaranteed admission as there is often an overflow. Out of concern for my wife, who doesn't do well in the heat, I probably won't get in line until around 4 or 4:30 - after the sun gets a little lower in the sky. Going to be a scorcher in Connecticut today.

This seems to be a fairly small venue for a Trump rally. I believe around 2,500 people is the capacity but if they put chairs on the floor, they might be able to squeeze in 3,000 plus. I aim to be one of them! Tickets are already "sold out" - meaning no longer available on the Trump website.

Going to take a ride by there this morning with the dog to get a lay of the land. This is basically right down the street from my house. I live on the Newtown/Easton town line so I just jump on Route 59 (Sport Hill Road), go about 10 miles, take a left on Jefferson (just past the Merritt Pkwy) and I'm there. Nothing but farms, woods and residential areas all the way there.

By the way, you have New Fairfield starred on you map. The rally is actually in Fairfield, which is on the "Golden Coast" of CT. To the south lies Westport, Norwalk, Stamford, New Canaan and Greenwich - a very high income area and one of the wealthiest - if not the wealthiest- part of the nation. Just to the north is Bridgeport, which is truly an urban hellhole. Fairfield is the buffer between the gritty coastal towns to the north (Bridgeport, New Haven, Milford) and the affluent NYC suburbs I mentioned earlier to the south.

The economy here in Connecticut is pretty poor. Lot of businesses closing or moving out of state (such as GE). Lot of "for Sale" signs in front of residences. Very, very high taxes and the politicians threaten to raise them even more. I work in New York City so I get double-taxed! But at least my job there is fairly safe.

I think this state is ripe for a Trump victory in November. The Democrat governor (Malloy) was re-elected only by the skin of his teeth in 2014 and he's more unpopular now than he was then. Many neighbors and people I speak to down here are openly for Trump and are fed up with politics as usual.

I will report back in after I take a ride past the Sacred Heart University rally location. An easy 15-20 minute ride each way.

Morning nikos and all, I returned to FR recently so was not privileged to know WVKayaker except towards the very end of his life. He must have been a wonderful human being to be honored in this way. I wish the best for his family in these trying days........

And yes, the GE theater was a very popular back in the day.
