Google Says it "Never Had a Palistinian Tag On Maps App"
The Jewish Press ^ | 8/11/16 | Hana Levi Julian

The mammoth Google search engine “never had a label for ‘Palestine’ on its Maps app,” according to a spokesperson for the internet giant who responded to outraged Palestinian Authority journalists who claimed Google deliberately removed the name “Palestine” as part of a plot hatched with Israel to wipe the entity out of existence.

A bug in the system apparently cleared “West Bank” and “Gaza City” from the labeling system, according to the spokesperson — but that change was spotted immediately by a journalist in Gaza.

‘[Our group] condemns the crime carried out by Google in deleting the name of Palestine, and calls for Google to rescind its decision and apologize to the Palestinian people,” the Forum of Palestinian Journalists said in a statement this week.

However, in response, a Google spokesperson said, “There has never been a ‘Palestine’ label on Google Maps, however we discovered a bug that removed the labels for ‘West Bank’ and ‘Gaza Strip.’ We’re working quickly to bring these labels back to the area.”

Thousands of desperate tweets have been — and still are — circulating madly around the internet, with users frantically warning that Palestine has disappeared from Google Maps.

Yes, a real laugher. Israel is not on any map used or displayed in Arab countries around the Middle East. Despite Israel being in existence for going on 70 years. Now that's the real crime!

Hang on, freaking-out world. The Antichrist will bring you an official “state of Palestine” by dividing the land of Israel.

It has been so prophesied and so shall it occur.

Watch out, 1,260 days in after the 7 year (360-day year) “covenant of peace” is “confirmed”.

There will be a surprise. A big surprise. The biggest surprise planet Earth will see until the Big One, 3.5 years later.

Silly? Laugh it off? Go right ahead.

Would they prefer to have Israel remove Palestine from the world map? I’m sure that could be arranged.

I just Googled “Israel”. The map that comes up right now says “Gaza” but I don’t see “Palestine” anywhere (which is fine with me, as it’s a mythological entity anyway). More interesting to me is the fact that all the city names in Israel are in English, whereas all the city names in A-rab countries are in both English AND Arabic. Hmmm......

Click a city name...

Deir al-Balah or Dayr al-Balah is a Palestinian city in the central Gaza Strip and the administrative capital of the Deir el-Balah Governorate. It is located over 14 kilometers south of Gaza City. The city had a population of 54,439 in 2007

The Rafah Governorate is a Governorate of Palestine in the southernmost portion of the Gaza Strip. Its district capital or muhfaza is the city of Rafah located on the border with Egypt.Wikipedia

In any case...

I repeat. There is no such thing as a Palestinian state. Only in the delusional minds of Muzzies and libtards. So a bunch of murderous terrorists unilaterally SAY that they have a state, and convince some libtard nations (and look at the current state of those nations, being overrun by Muzzlime "refugees") to repeat that. Doesn't make it so.

I was an engineer working with the google earth team until early 2009 and am well aquatinted with the people and decision making process of what to include in the maps at that time.

The desire was to be completely neutral and not to try to make statements one way or the other. Our approach to the disputed areas was to just use official UN data so the responsibility was somebody else's when one country or another might complain.

I don't know if the attitude has changes since I was there, but I doubt it. Most Googlers are very leftwing and the company leans hard left mostly, but a minority of us were not leftwing and to some extent we kept them more honest. I did not see any political bias in choosing borders...but just a desire to avoid any controversy.

A thought just occurred to me looking at that cartooon...

Maybe the reason Mohammad did not want his pic drawn was to avoid be recognized as a target on the battlefield or for assassination...he obviously would have been someone many people had very good reasons to want to kill being the leader of a blood thirsty aggressive cult that slaughtered people and all.

That would make sense, since there is no such thing as a “Palestinian.”

“I named my toilet palestine. In honor of palestine.”

You gonna put a little blue and white doily on the top ?

The one thing I would never accuse Google of doing is sympathizing with Israel.

“Since Palestine includes both modern day Israel and Jordan both Arab and Jewish residents of this area were referred to as “Palestinians”. It was only after the Jews re-inhabited their historic homeland of Judea and Samaria, that the MYTH of an Arab Palestinian nation was created and marketed worldwide.” (Caps mine)

Ther is no Palestine.

There are two kinds of leftwing engineer in silicon valley. The majority, including at Google, are leftwing by default and just don't pay attention to politics beyond feeling themselves informed by watching the MSM. Some of these are being converted by being around right wing engineers like me. Engineers tend to be logical, and thus they are easier to convert if you can get them interested in checking on facts that the MSM distorts.

The other kind does follow politics and are just wrong in their thinking or world view. These are the kind that I find annoying, but don't discriminate against unless they treat others unfairly, like what happened to Brendan Eich at Mozilla.
