By Dan Noyes Thursday, August 04, 2016 07:11PM SAN FRANCISCO -- An urgent bulletin is going out to law enforcement Wednesday, warning of a new threat of attacks against officers on the street and in prisons.
It has to do with what's called Black August.
A reporter for KGO-TV - KABC's sister station in San Francisco - obtained the bulletin from a law enforcement source.
The bulletin from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Sacramento Intelligence Unit and the FBI's National Gang Intelligence Center warns of increased risk for violence against prison guards and police officers during Black August.
The prison gang Black Guerilla Family started Black August in the 1970s to honor fallen members.
One of the most prominent, Hugo Pinell, served 46 years in solitary confinement after a San Francisco rape conviction, and after killing a prison guard and slashing the throats of two other guards who survived during an escape attempt in 1971.

Incarcerated Black August rioters in prison should be
abandoned by the police officers and left to fight
among themselves, cook their own meals, and otherwise
do all the other things that the police usually do.
Clinton Chooses Black Lives Matter Over Law Enforcement Support

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton pursued the endorsement of Black Lives Matter activists but blew off the largest police union in the United States.
After almost a year of meeting with Black Lives Matter representatives, Clinton failed to garner the support of the movements co-founder Alicia Garza, but she managed to receive the endorsement of mothers championed by the Black Lives Matter movement.
Garza recently slammed Clinton, saying the former secretary of state only uses black people for votes and photo ops, but doesnt do anything for black communities after getting elected.
Nevertheless the Clinton-Kaine campaign touts the support she received during the Democratic National Convention from mothers of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Chicago gangs reportedly plotting to shoot cops in response to teen’s death
August 9, 2016
Leaders from three Chicago gangs reportedly met last week to discuss plans to kill police officers in response to the officer-involved shooting death of 18-year-old Paul ONeal.
The Chicago Sun-Times, citing an alert issued to Chicago officers, reported Monday that the meeting took place on Thursday between the gangs Vice Lords, Black Disciples and Four Corner Hustlers.
According to the paper, the Four Corner Hustlers have provided guns and pinpointed a sniper in place. However, authorities are still unsure where the alleged sniper spot is placed. The gang is also funneling weapons to the other two gangs.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi declined to comment on the situation, saying the department does not comment on any security measures.
Dean Angelo, the president of Lodge 7 of the Fraternal Order of Police, said the ONeal family attorney and statements from the Independent Police Review Authority were to blame for the threats.
We had inflammatory and false rhetoric coming from (Michael Oppenheimer) and statements that werent true, Angelo said. You also have a lead investigator in police-involved deaths talking about how shocking and disturbing this is.
The threats come after the officer-involved shooting death of the man. Police chased the teen into a South Shore neighborhood on July 28 after he allegedly stole a vehicle.
Video released last week purportedly showed some chaos before ONeals death. Police said the body camera of the officer who shot and killed him wasnt recording.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Monday it was too early to decide whether police officers need more training. He said he supported Superintendent Eddie Johnsons decision to strip police powers from the officers who fired their weapons at ONeal.
Johnson hasn’t said what policies they may have violated, but department policy largely prohibits shooting at a vehicle if it’s the only threat to officers.
