White is ok, so long as its worn by the Democratic nominee.
Two weeks ago, Philadelphia Inquirer fashion critic Elizabeth Wellington bashed Melania Trump for daring to wear a white dress for her RNC speech. Wellington acknowledged that on a strictly fashion note, Melania pulled off an angelic look. But the white designer dress was a scary statement, and supposedly gave off the subliminal message that in the G.O.P. white is always right.
Ten days later, Wellington changed her mind and decided that white was an ok color for politicians to wear.
When Hillary Clinton took the stage last week, also garbed in all white, Wellington had nothing but praise for her fashion choice. This time around, the critic wrote that white is a hue thats both soft and strong, not scary. She went on to claim that Clinton's white pantsuit is telling us she has arrived. This is surreal. A dream come true.
Hillary:
She seemed happy. She sounded excited. She appeared hopeful. And that was all reflected in her clothes.

Clinton capped off the DNC with a sartorial symbol of the hope in America that Democrats tried to convey to voters all week. Clinton's message was upbeat. It was not one of sadness and fear. She took the podium confidently.
Clinton loves monochromatic looks. She's worn nearly every color of the rainbow. On Wednesday night she stunned in cobalt blue two-piece number. But it's rare we see her in all white. White is hue that's both soft and strong. But it was appropriate: Her acceptance speech was a coming out of sorts. Clinton's white pantusit is telling us she has arrived. This is surreal. A dream come true.

Most importantly Clinton's white suit told America loud and clear that she joyfully accepted the opportunity to run for presidentof the United States of America.

Melania
Trumps foreignness stands in stark contrast to her husbands Make America Safe Again and Make America Great Again sloganeering, which he plans to accomplish with his anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, anti-Black Lives Matter platform. In other words, anti- all things brown, as some might say.
(That is, unless you have a speech to write: First lady Michelle Obama is clearly your girl, according to reports that Trump lifted entire parts of her speech from Obamas 2008 Democratic National Convention speech.) It also should be noted here that dress sold out within a few hours of the speech, something else Melania Trump has in common with Michelle Obama.
So while Trump appeared flawless on the Cleveland stage Monday night, whether she intended it or not, her all-white ensemble displayed the kind of foreignness that is accepted by her husbands political party. To many, that outfit could be another reminder that in the G.O.P. white is always right.
Four years ago, Republicans fretted about trying to diversify their base, in the wake of Barack Obamas clear voter mandate. This time around, with Trump at the top of the ticket, its obvious that ship has sailed. On Monday night, Melania Trump was a not-so-subliminal billboard for whats looking like the Trumpian view of an ideal America.
And if thats the fashion statement she intended to make, its a very scary one.

CLEAR MEDIA BIAS AND LIBERAL DOUBLE STANDARDS!
Forgot to click the excerpt box and post a link to the Newsbusters article:
Is the writer even capable of embarrassment?
I was hoping someone would call this harridan out for the flaming hypocrisy.
I am so glad that pic is only a head shot. Betcha if she were to wear white everyone would think her ship had sailed too.
Boss Hillary
Total bias.
What a stupid bitch.
+1
Her white teeth are whiter than mine. Is she trying to be some white teeth supremicist? I’m scared! I need safe space.
Ultra lib can make the same thing good and bad at the same time with no intellectual dissonance. (Good one, huh?)
Yes Liz, you are tired, old and unnecessary.
She’s one of the black race traitors trying to lead them back to the plantation; Hillary has a serious likability/trust problem with blacks, who seem to sense she despises them...
