Amid new claims from Republican Donald Trump that the fall election may be "rigged" against him, the Obama administration is considering taking a step toward nationalizing the cyber security of the process, according to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.
"We should carefully consider whether our election system, our election process, is critical infrastructure like the financial sector, like the power grid," Johnson told a media breakfast Wednesday.
"There's a vital national interest in our election process, so I do think we need to consider whether it should be considered by my department and others critical infrastructure," he said at the breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

For those who say it can’t happen here....
Look up the story of John R. Brinkley. He was a physician in the 1920’s who hawked Goat Gland surgery on the radio for sexual dysfunctions. The State of Kansas revoked his medical license, and as a result the Feds put his radio station off the air.
He decided to run for Governor of Kansas in 1928 so that he could replace the medical board that yanked his license and get back in the Goat Gland business. He ran a write-in campaign as he had already missed the ballot deadline.
The Attorney General of Kansas (the same man who had caused him to forfeit his medical license) issued an arbitrary ruling that for purposes of the election only ballots marked “J.R. Brinkley” would be counted as valid. This caused any that were filled out in any other way (John Brinkley, Dr. J. Brinkley, etc) to be discarded.
Brinkley got 180,000 write-in votes! Historians have determined that somewhere between 30,000 and 50,000 were discarded due to the arbitrary rule. Absent that he would have been elected Governor of Kansas.
Think an election can’t be stolen in the US of A? It’s been done. Nearly 90 years ago.

It sure does. The only way Hillary can win is through fraud. She can’t even get more than a few hundred (or a few dozen) to show up to her rallies.
If we are governed by a President Clinton, I may have to never read Free Republic during her tenure. It is the best option for me not to have a stroke and to keep my sanity.
Trump will always be President Trump to me. Fighting everyone, against all odds..he should win....but the Dems are going to steal this from him.
