My facebook and ATT “news feeds” each have a couple stories about Trump-Khan or about Obama’s ploy to keep Trump-Khan in the news. Trump is making it easy for a media that already hates him. He’s got zero message discipline.
The best answer to Khan at the DNC would have been to ignore him. Or to note that the broader question isn’t the existence of heroes, but the overall results from large-scale Muslim immigration — which has proven disastrous in Europe, and has delivered carnage here too.
Instead Trump serves up his own head on a platter by going after the dead soldier’s mother and father. A guaranteed losing play.

And lo and behold, every rally is even bigger, every enemedia 'gotcha' is proven to be another scam within a day or two, and the Team shows its professionalism and poise with each episode.

This is 2016 where the general public is awash in connected devices and connected with each other via social media. The general public is onto the lies and deceptive tactics of news media like never before in history.
It’s not ‘spin’ to say that Trump stands up to the enemy without cowering, it’s fact and yes, the general public is aware it’s fact.
Going through the primary as a Cruz supporter, you may not have an appreciation of what it looked like from a Trump supporter’s POV. I can tell you. It was one crisis after another. Just an endless series of, ‘Trump REALLY blew it this time! Trump is finished once and for all now, for sure!’
It was like that for the entire primary. Yet somehow or other Trump won.
Despite that, the same people are all over the place, foretelling gloom and doom. The difference is, THIS time Trump has REALLY blown it. THIS time Trump has screwed up once and for all.
Except he hasn’t. His crowds continue to grow while Hillary’s shrink. The astroturfed polls will only sustain the Trump haters for so long. Then the evidence will prevail.
Time will tell, and unless you want Hillary to win, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
I did answer your question. Trump’s remarks about why Khan’s mother wasn’t being allowed to speak, and his comparison of his own “hard work” to the Khans’ sacrifice were tactical blunders.
This isn’t the primary anymore. Trump’s goal now needs to be convincing swing voters that he has the temperament and maturity to be president. He is failing to do that, which is likely part of why he is down in all but one post-DNC poll.

Some folks are genuinely concerned and want some solid leads to let them know that the Trump people are holding up and staying focused, and they aren’t looking for BS from people making light of that, or trying to shame them into staying quiet.

Because I want to win. The press is pulling out all the stops to defeat Trump. They have abandoned even the pretense of objectivity. I get all that. But Trump needs to have the discipline not to make the press’s job easier. If Trump was a more disciplined candidate, CNN running 9 hit pieces on its front page would look ridiculous to average American. With Trump falling for the bait over and over, it looks like Trump is a dumpster fire.
