Grenade found in Dallas gunman's room on Afghan base, Army says

DALLAS – The Army reservist who killed five Dallas police officers had kept an unauthorized grenade in his room on an Afghanistan base in 2014, according to a report by Army officials investigating a sexual harassment complaint against him.

He was a member of a protected class. Reporting him could have lead to charges of racism which would ruin one’s career.

I hate to say it, but I agree. The whole political atmosphere makes the person who does say something into a person w/ a target on their back & a social pariah.

And he got an honorable discharge? I’ve seen people get general discharges for being sloppy, lippy or slightly overweight.

It happened. Remember when a guy rolled a grenade under a tent in '03 or '04? I don't remember the details, but it was pretty serious.

I can't remember if it was in Afghanistan or Saudi.

During my year in Vietnam, I collected a whole ammo can of frags. Alas, when I left I turned them into the armorer. My point is, they were not hard to come by in a combat zone and they were comforting to have around when my M16 was locked up in the arms room.
