Hillary Clinton, Underdog
The Wall Street Journal ^ | July 29, 2016 | By DOUGLAS E. SCHOEN

Even after Philadelphia, the momentum of the race to the White House points in Trump’s direction.

After what even critics said was a highly effective Democratic National Convention, Hillary Clinton appears to have emerged as . . . the underdog.

Conventional wisdom has long held that Mrs. Clinton will capture the White House in November, regardless of the challenges her candidacy faces. With three months to go, that calculus looks shaky. The 2016 election is trending toward Donald Trump.

Mr. Trump is surging as well in swing states, where he is now slightly ahead, within the margin of error, or at least within striking distance. The Real Clear Politics polling average for Florida puts the GOP nominee up by 0.3 percentage points. In Ohio he is down by 0.8 points. And in Pennsylvania he trails by 4.4 points.

This is pretty astounding, considering that Clinton & Co. has spent $57 million on ads thus far—$25 million from the campaign and $32 million from super PACs. Team Trump has put up only $3.6 million in ads, all from outside groups.

Mrs. Clinton’s campaign is weighed down by other factors. Her negatives have reached their highest point yet. Recent Gallup polling shows that 38% of Americans view her favorably and 57% unfavorably. That’s her worst score since 1996, before she entered politics in her own right, and a far cry from the 69% approval she enjoyed in The Wall Street Journal/NBC poll when she left public office in 2013.

I have worked for both Clintons—Bill in 1996 presidential campaign and Hillary in her 2000 Senate campaign. No one knows better than I do that they understand how to fight and will do what it takes to win. The question is whether that will be enough. Hillary Clinton—and the Democrats—are now battling uphill.

It’s going to be an interesting 3+ months! We know in what states Donald Trump will be spending much of his time, but it’ll be quite telling where Hillary spends her time.

Mr. Trump, just stay on message! Continue to tie Hillary to Obama and the horrible economy. That will resonate.

Trump is going to have to continue fighting like a demon to keep up with the hundreds of millions in negative ads and basically the entire corrupt MSM all working to destroy his image before the election. Is he the perfect candidate? He is the only one who would have even the slightest chance of prevailing against the Dems this year. It is a miracle that we have him.

The judges are certainly doing their part - one after the other overturning voter ID laws. It's absolutely insane and ought to go to the Supreme Court. It's not discriminatory to ask someone to verify their eligibility to vote - otherwise there is NO eligibility other than showing up as many times as you want. It's also demeaning to “minorities and poor” to assume they're too stupid to make it through life. It's bad enough we have to content with rigged machines and fighting the rats who are watching the voting.

Steve Martin’s dog in the movie, “The Jerk”, comes to mind.

Underdog?? Lying, conniving, domineering, egg sucking dog, yes, there is no question about that but, both the full support of the federal government, top dog is more accurate.

Incumbents must poll at 50 %, ( Hillary is considered the incumbent in this race) She is no where near that. She will lose.

...The plan is simple. Portray her as the dog now. Exaggerate her “comeback” as November approaches. Create a phony “miracle comeback” narrative in the days leading up to the vote....

Clinton insider, Larry Nichols, would agree with you.

I think the October surprise is Bill’s illness being released. He didn’t look well (not that Hitlery is) and then she can go for the sympathy vote.

“Hillary Clinton, underdog”
“(Billary) they understand how to fight and will do what it takes to win”

“a highly effective Democratic National Convention”

Stealing flags from city hall for decoration, which fell over. Thunderstorms and flood warnings, as if Heaven itself were offended. Fences erected, then fortified, rioting outside, jeering and booing from the floor. Delegates barred and required to provide photo ID, then completely empty sections. A podium barricade erected to protect `rat big bugs from their hoi polloi. Saccharine speeches. Everyone holding their breath wondering if the Cankled One would `stroke out’ ...

“Setting aside the disruption Mrs. Lincoln, `My American Cousin’ was an amusing play, was it not?”

The Wall Street Urinal: CNN, Red State and other #nevertrumpers carrying water for the Beast.
Who you gonna believe? The MSM (GOP-e branch) or yer lyin’ eyes?

Schoen is singing a different tune about the election than he has on FOX, unless he’s changed his opinion over there....though he & Cadell have been open to a Trump win more so than most of the other dems.

The U.S. Supreme Court has already upheld the use of voter ID laws.

Anyone out there, who can explain to us, if the Supreme Court has already upheld voter ID laws, why we keep seeing cases of judges overturning voter ID laws??? Why wasn’t a binding legal precedent set when the Supreme Court ruled on this issue?? Why aren’t the judges who hear these cases citing the Supreme Court decision as precedent for upholding voter ID laws in other states????
