Obama Administration Releases Latest Executive Gun Control
NRA-ILA ^ | 7/27/2016 | NRA-ILA

On Friday, July 22, just as members of his party were gathering in Philadelphia to coronate Hillary Clinton as their presidential nominee, the Obama Administration once again released a sweeping gun control measure by executive fiat. This time the bad news came via the U.S. State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), which is primarily responsible for administering the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and its implementing rules, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The upshot is that DDTC is labeling commercial gunsmiths as “manufacturers” for performing relatively simple work such as threading a barrel or fabricating a small custom part for an older firearm. Under the AECA, “manufacturers” are required to register with DDTC at significant expense or risk onerous criminal penalties.

And I think what the article says is “commercial gunsmiths” so my interpretation is that the hobbyist/owner isn’t someone covered by this in toto.

So, if I want to put a scope on my rifle I have to be a ‘manufacturer’?

This is an attack on gunsmiths now, but also any gun owner who has modified their firearms in any way.

God I hate Obama,,, I truly loath him...he truly is Satan, and God please give us have the wisdom to elect Trump.

Small Guy trying to fight It.

This Nation was Birthed in Fighting
This type of thing.

The Over Reach of these Pinheads is laughable and is due all the mocking and ridicule that can be mustered.
If this Nation is to survive As A Free Country,
It won’t be because We honor the dictates of tyrannical beaureucrats.

Can Trump reverse this with an EO?

This may slow things down for manufacturers but it’s all legal mumbo jumbo that the main industrialists have lawyers to either eliminate or circumvent. And it will be overturned in January once Trump is in place

I got this email from the NRA ILA, too. It’s there busy season for donations. I gave already. Yes it’s bad ...... But the article was crafted to elicit donations. So DONATE. The institute for legislative action and it’s sub category PVF .... Political Victory Fund.... Only give to A and A+ rated pro gun candidates.

President Trump will not yield a peaceful solution, IMHO. The libtards will not accept it. No more than we will accept Hillary. This election really means nothing.

To begin with, I am voting against HRC because the ruling class can break laws anytime they damn well please but we in the gentry class are held doubly responsible. That is not Justice but a perversion of Justice. When I hold my nose to vote for Trump (which I was not going to do before Comey’s Catastrophe), I will not have to squeeze so tight as I did with Dole, McCain or Romney.
That being said, DO NOT just automatically and wrongly assume that DJT will rescind ANY EO just because he is elected. To my knowledge, he has yet to say that he will nullify 7 1/2 years of Obama’s wet dreams known as EO. There was a candidate that did unequivocally make that commitment but he was soundly defeated and jeered, booed, and scandalized on FR with such vitriol that I was amazed how a supposedly conservative website like FR could so easily descend to populism run amuck. No need to reply, this old proudly Southern conservative redneck described by the media and most on this blog as racist, sexist, bigoted, Islamic radical hating, homophobe, will just keep on keeping a tight grip on my guns and religion

He is “peaceful” compared to what can happen. His backers are not screwing around and play for keeps.

NRA is NOT a conservative organization. It is a pro gun organization. Harry Reid at the time, blocked anti gun legislation. Once he showed his true colors they blocked donations and publicly vilified him.
Currently(unfortunately) they are backing Ryan in the primary strictly on his progun record and because he’s the incumbent. If Ryan is successfully primaried against, they will back the progun candidate in the general.

"In either case, their effect and power can be nullified by a succeeding President."

OR Congress can pass a law defining specifically what constitutes a "manufacturer" and thus nullify the EO. Where are our legisltators??

Yes, you are entirely correct. Especially for the case when the administration is issuing a ruling to existing laws. Thanks,

Big FUBO

Way to collect more money from a working, man and put them out of business. Guns need routine maintenance, especially heirlooms which you have to make parts for.

I will walk barefoot over rough gravel to the polls on
Election Day and vote for:

DONALD J. TRUMP for President of the United States

In primary, I voted for Cruz; but ashamed of Cruz now.
