Vice presidential candidate Mike Pence said the Trump campaign is having conversations about lifting the blacklist it has applied to certain media outlets.
Speaking to radio host Hugh Hewitt on Friday, Pence defended his own history of dealing with the news media, saying he authored legislation while in Congress to help protect journalists confidential sources.
Were going to have those conversations internally and I fully expect in the next 100 days were going to continue to be available to the media, whether theyre fair or unfair," Pence said.
The Trump campaign has blacklisted certain outlets, including POLITICO, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post and others, from attending his events because of what he considers unfair coverage. On Friday, CNNs Chris Cuomo said he is blacklisted from the Trump campaign because of how we conduct our interviews.
Trump may be the Republican nominee, but the Republican National Committee refuses to get involved or even comment on Trumps treatment of the news media, instead diverting all questions to the campaign.
Calling it the a big criticism he has of the Trump campaign, Hewitt asked Pence on Friday to argue with Trump to lift the ban.

It were a doozy.
I guess not, lol.
I don’t agree with Mike Pence.
Journalists have the right to write whatever they want but I’m not obligated to provide them with a forum.
Courtesy and respect are a two-way street.
Amen. Looks like Trump may have fallen for the same trap. If so, I hope Trump dumps him and gets the right guy.
Pence needs to get out of the “wanna be” stage. So far, he’s not impressing me with his mouth offs. He needs some smacking around if he’s going to cut it as an apprentice.
I didn’t like Pence when he was in Congress. I thought he was a Rino. We like Trump because he fights back. Pence sounds like the usual Republican toady.
That last line is seriously uncalled for.
My anger is directed more at the idiot Hugh Hewitt, the smiling jackal.
You know, I started listening to Hewitt when he first came on KRLA out in Socal about 15 years ago. I always thought he was one of us (patriotic nationalist) but have changed me mind.
I stopped listening to him when he tried to derail Trump’s campaign but decided to go back.
I’m afraid I’ll be quitting him again. Hobnobbing with the political and media elites is bringing the real him out. I finally have to accept the fact that he is one of the elites. He only mouths the words he thinks we want to hear but in reality he has an elitist education and has bought into the globalist bull shit hook, line, and sinker.
These opinionated talking heads need to leave Trump to his own devices. His natural instincts are far ahead of any major political figure. Besides, it is sweet when someone bitch-slaps the arrogant pompous media types.
Wonder if Trump will cut him loose if he doesn’t show he’s with it.
“That last line is seriously uncalled for.”
OOOoooo, we better not make anybody mad. That kind of thinking is exactly what Trump rejects.
It is long past time for the feminine. It’s time to man up, or be flung on the ash heap of history.
lol, I’m not suggesting going soft. I am saying that stating he should ‘bash’ his face, or whatever you said, makes you sound like a riled up 15 year old.
Not necessary imho
“makes you sound like a riled up 15 year old.”
To the feminized.
“Not necessary imho”
Necessary or not, it is desirable.
;)
Pence came out against using names for people. How else do we know who they are?
...nice to be optimistic but they will always, in the end, be unfair dbags. Actually, unfair isnt correct. Lying sacks of shiite is more appropriate.
...
They are crooked like Hillary. Trump should be adding to the blacklist. He’s doing very well with social media.
Yeah, well, what happened to the American tradition of an objective media?
...
News outlets have always been biased and dishonest. Read what Thomas Jefferson said about them. What’s changed is the bias is so one sided.
It's not about Trump, it's about the lying, conniving, shameless press. They've been caught repeatedly in lies and propaganda. What do THEY intend to do about it?
No more business as usual. Somebody needs to explain that to Pence.
Exactly. No more business as usual.
