For about half the first season of B5 I thought Michael Garibaldi was played by Bruce Willis and wondered how they got such a big name star for a relatively small Sci-Fi show. I think eventually I looked at the credits and realized it wasn't Bruce Willis, but instead this actor Jerry Doyle, who looked and sounded a lot like Willis.
RIP Garabaldi :(
Only Jerry Doyle could act. I would see Bruce Willis in a show and think, "Why has Jerry Doyle gone all flat and expressionless? Does he have the flu?"
Sad. I remember him saying he wanted to live long enough to get his first social security check.
Rest in Peace
All fine actors and we nearly lost Claudia Christian if she hadn’t fixed (for now) her drinking problem.
Biggs was the surprise to me as he seemed to be in better shape than the others.
Conaway never seemed all there during the series so I wasn’t surprised drugs took him
I decided to look up what happened to all the actors that played in that series. Most are dead. Jerry Doyle, along with Peter Jurassic were two of the surviving cast members.
I am sad to hear about Jerry Doyle. I very much enjoyed his personality and his character of Michael Garibaldi.
"Babylon 5" was apparently bad for people's health for some reason.
He seemed to be a quite independent thinker on his radio show.
So sad. Used to really enjoy his show.
I met him at a DragonCon once a long time ago. Good guy.
Pretty much all of the B5/Crusade types I ran into were.
It seems like the ST people have better longevity.
RIP Mr. Doyle, your show got me through a lot of long days of work!
Garibaldi?
Ah crap!
I have the DVD’s for B5. I started to rewatch the series and was gobsmacked by how, being spoiled by the cinematic production values of Battlestar Galactica I suppose, B5 looks very two dimensional today, as if it were being filmed from the audience of a staged play. And while the scenes onboard were in HD, the outer-space sequences dropped to SD.
Doubt I’ll ever watch it again.
My Husband and I used to listen to his radio show when we were stationed in FL.
My Husband is watching Babylon 5 right now on Amazon.
I really liked him on the radio.
That old? 60? That's still barely middle aged!
RIP and condolences to his family.
Rest in peace Mr. Garibaldi.
There will be Bagna Cauda this weekend.
[ Dang, he isnt that old.

Well, he did smoke a lot, and he had some recent health issues, almost died a few years ago from a severe infection i think, He looked like he was 80.
I remember him. May he Rest In Peace and prayers up for his loved ones.
Ww. I’m stunned. Doyle will be missed.
ditto
