The Department of Justice has been swamped by the workload it has faced over the past several months. They have not had the time to deal with the illegal aliens that have not been processed. They could not look into the IRS and its treatment of conservative organizations. Neither did the DOJ have time to look into Lois Lerner.
Amazingly, we find that it does have time to sue a small Pennsylvania township over a zoning issue. Thats right - the DOJ has filed suit against Bensalem Township over its zoning decisions.
The Washington Post reports:
The Justice Department is taking a Pennsylvania town to court over a municipal boards denial of a zoning application for a mosque, accusing officials of discriminating against a local Muslim organization on the basis of religion.
The Bensalem Township violated the federal Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act when its zoning board in 2014 rejected a zoning request that would have allowed the Bensalem Masjid to build a mosque in the town, Justice Department attorneys wrote in a complaint filed Thursday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Our Constitution protects the rights of religious communities to build places of worship free from unlawful interference and unnecessary barriers, said Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Vanita Gupta, head of the Justice Departments Civil Rights Division. The Department of Justice will continue to challenge unjustified local zoning actions around the country when they encroach upon this important civil right.
So according to Gupta, the Constitution protects the citizens against unfair zoning issues? As I reported, this is clearly a failure to read or understand the Bill of Rights. The Constitution protects Pennsylvania from the DOJ; it Protects Bensalem from Congress, but it does nothing to protect any person from zoning laws.
Besides this lack of understanding or the blatant refusal to apply the Constitution correctly, there is the issue of justice. Justice has no religious preference. It does not take sides; it simply states what Justice is and what it is not.
This is the problem that we have in this country. We all think we know in our mind what justice looks like, but we have no way to prove that we are right, and others are wrong. Our lack of care for a standard has left us with this arbitrary understanding of law. As things stand, right is defined by those in power at the time.
Might makes right is not the principle by which our country is run.
I say we've all had quite enough from the administration of a foreign aid student that somehow flew into the White Hut!
Close to home for me. Sick of them.

I have had many parcels re-zoned, and am familiar with the process. It is one of the last vestiges of local control, and the zoning officials are given a lot of leeway to use their own discretion.
Federalization of zoning, under the cloak of civil rights violations, is awful.
Surround every mosque in the country on four sides with Christian churches, Christian bookstores, Christian owned (pork) BBQ joints, Christian resell charities, Christian-run abused women’s shelters, etc ... and dog parks.
Lotsa do parks.
I say surround the mosques with pig farms.
Why weren’t they eager to protect the religious rights of of Christians who didn’t want to bake a cake? I’d say there’s a double standard there. Too bad they weren’t Muslim bakers. That lesbian couple would have been told they need to get their cake baked elsewhere.
Take it all the way to The Supremes. These b*st*rds in DC have to be fought tooth and nail.
Let them build it. Then, let them rebuild it. Over and over again.
Unfortunately they tend to build mosque in places where pig farms and hog slaughter would be inappropriate.
Just like the cops would rather patrol a peaceful neighborhood and issue tickets to little old ladies...and the TSA would rather inspect them, too.
Close to home for us too — Bensalem is already going downhill, pretty darn fast. My daughter & her husband had an apartment there, they got out when it became necessary for her to call him from her car before she pulled into their parking lot, so he could come outside to escort her in. They live with us now while they’re saving up for a house, maybe not an ideal situation but at least they’re out of that crap-hole.
Are they trying to build the mosque near the Parx casino? That should be interesting.
Okay, but if inside you ever find weapons, ammo, knives, explosives or terrorist materials (such as vests) you can revoke their use permit and lock the doors until a judge orders them open, then appeal the decisions forever. I would.
Silly me.

Thank you!
And a mosque is?
You are welcome.
I like listening to the archives of shows...usually shorter with no breaks. The “second hour” is actually just 30 minutes, so if you go 15 minutes into the broadcast, you will hear this.
