Police who searched the 18-year-old's room say they found written material on attacks.
The gunman, who later killed himself, had a 9mm Glock pistol and 300 bullets.
Police are investigating whether he may have lured his victims through a Facebook invitation to a restaurant. He is suspected of using a fake account under a girl's name to invite people to the McDonald's restaurant where he launched his attack.

When first reported there were three gun men. What happened to the other two?
I saw a picture saying that in Twitter, but the two supposed accomplishes with guns drawn on it seemed clearly cops to me. Dressed in all blue and wearing protective vests.
I assume your German is impeccable, so let's look at these two statements: The first one from Die Welt:
Es handelt sich um einen 18-Jährigen, der in München geboren wurde und aufgewachsen ist. Der Täter ist noch Schüler. "Es gibt keinerlei Anhaltspunkte zu einem Bezug zum IS", heißt es. Der Täter habe sich aber mit dem Thema Amok beschäftigt. In seinem Zimmer wurden Zeitungsartikel gefunden, die sich mit Amoklagen befasst haben. Darunter auch ein Buch. "Amok im Kopf. Warum Schüler töten." Desweiteren wurde EDV-Material beschlagnahmt, welches ausgewertet wird.
A rough translation of the bolded sentences:
"We have not found any connection to ISIS. However, the culprit has been very interested in the theme of "Amok"-shooting rampages. In his room we found several newspaper articles about rampages. we also found a book with the title: "Amok in the head. Why students kill".
So, unless I totally misunderstand this, the police has so far found magazines, newspapers and books dealing with shootings - but nothing specific about Breivik. His computer, phone etc will be checked, but no results as yet.
Second piece, this from Der Speigel:
Der Täter habe sich intensiv mit dem Thema Amok beschäftigt, daher gehen die Ermittler davon aus, dass er sich auch mit dem Fall Breivik beschäftigt habe. Das liege auf der Hand, sagt Polizeipräsident Andrä. Freitag war der fünfte Jahrestag des Amoklaufs in Norwegen.
My translation: The culprit has interested himself in mass shootings, therefore the investigators assume that he also has interested himself in the Breivik case. That's obvious, says Chief of Police Andrä. Yesterday was the fifth anniversary of the mass shootings in Norway.
Now, you can go back to the BBC piece, check the first page of the Daily Telegraph etc etc and see how a false story is made.
And in the meantime the witness statement that he shouted Allah Akbar when he started shooting in the restaurant is totally forgotten.

That’s very common. One witness will say he saw a gunman on the East side, another witness saw a gunman on the South side. A third witness might say there was a gunman on the West side. So, you’ve got three gunmen, right? Or maybe one guy who moves around, or was seen from more than one angle.
Cops have to be cautious and accept that there MIGHT be more than one gunman, but this is often not the case and shouldn’t breed too much conspiracy thinking that “one of them got away”.
Welt.de here says he had Breivik’s face as his profile picture in WhatsApp messenger program
