Nobody but nobody in the political field writes their own speeches. And speechwriters are for hire for either side. I'm guessing that they may have hired the same speechwriter. Or the speechwriter got lazy and went back and looked at Obama’s speech for reference.

But let's not forget our current VP is a prolific plagiarist and yet the press didn't think it was worth mentioning in 2008

Definitely smells of sabotage. Trump has to have a truly trustworthy advisor get to the bottom of this.

Or else someone was reviewing past convention speeches and was somehow extremely careless with the texts, that’s how a certain amount of student plagiarism occurs, when they have a bunch of quotes or index cards (if anyone still uses index cards) and loses track of where some text came from.
