ANKARA, Turkey (AP) Turkey's armed forces said it "fully seized control" of the country Friday and its president responded by calling on Turks to take to the streets in a show of support for the government.
A loud explosion was heard in the capital, Ankara, fighter jets buzzed overhead, gunfire erupted outside military headquarters and vehicles blocked two major bridges in Istanbul.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in an interview over FaceTime with the CNN Turk, dismissed the action as "an attempt at an uprising by a minority within our armed forces." His office declined to disclose his whereabouts saying only that he was in a secure location.

“Meet the Turk”
Because it's illegal to make fun of Erdogan in Germany.
I wish I knew German. Google Translate is too laborious. I’d gin him up some verse all right.
Bad day to be a bad guy.
**************
Then it must be a bad day for Obama.
Evidently Germany denied his asylum request.
“Kurds on one side, Iraqis making ground, Russia pounding, Turkey gone, Egypt under control of military.
Bad day to be a bad guy.”
You’ve forgotten one. Obama soon to be gone.
Excellent news. I was afraid that Erdogan had cleaned all the moderates out of the military.
Just kidding... I don’t really think I ought to pollute my mind with that stuff. But auf wiedersehen to him.
Die islamist scumbag!
Or he rescinded it once he found out that they were going to put him in one.
PJ MEDIA:
UPDATE 6:40 p.m. EST: As I see it, there are three possible options right now:
1. A small group within the military is responsible for this coup attempt. If that’s the case, the coup could fail.
2. It’s a big military coup. If that’s the case, chances of President Erdogan surviving (politically) are rather small.
3. It’s a set-up. On Twitter, some Turks suggest it could be a powerplay by the government: there’s nothing better than to use a fake coup to increase your power as president. Especially so if you’re trying to push through a new so-called presidential system, but are facing a lot of (strong) opposition.
Trump for President.
I know a number of women who would be thrilled if women could not vote. I think Ann Coulter is one of them.
And your prayers have worked. Can you imagine the bad news today as from our congress, which rubber stamped virtually unlimited visas for Afghanis. There’s an article on FR about it today.
That’s where I read it. That all changes in 6 months.
Obama is PISSED.
I love your posts :)
They never sound preachy and they always show God in a good light and as the one who is REALLY in charge.
