This is WHY Ryan approves of the Trump-Pence ticket. Because he knows so many conservative voters want him goneWe can only hope that Romney's lapdog's moves backfire, and dems and independents join Republicans and Cantorize Ryan in the primary.

I want to know if Eric Cantor approves before I come to any conclusions.

The pick was clearly a peace offering to the GOPe and a way to bind up the Party.

I don’t like that. He didn’t need it. The Never Trump movement are so far gone that most can’t be recovered. Trump ran against the establishment. His voters voted for him because he is against the establishment. How many votes are these Congress critters anyway? A few hundred (actually less because Trump already has some Congressional support). Screw the establishment.

“Pence is expected to help unify the party and shut up the Never Trump Clinton supporters in the party.”
Agreed. I’m sure Trump will find ways to keep Pence busy, and if he ever strays too far off the plantation, he will be marginalized or fired.

I agree, but Pence does protect his flank from those who are concerned about Trump being unstable.
The VP isn't that big a deal and we shouldn't be that concerned about it.

I wish that jack ball who was running here around yesterday barking about Trump picking Pence would be catastrophic or the end of his campaign. Where’d he go?

To ad to that. This is a Romney advisor talking about Pence:

Pence-- pro-immigration, pro-trade, pro-Iraq war/surge, pro-civility in politics, anti-religious test for Muslims --signs onto Trump agenda?

It's disorienting to have had commiserated w/someone re: Trump - about how he was unacceptable, & then to see that someone become Trump's VP
