Reports surfaced on Thursday afternoon that presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump picked Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his vice president (VP).
“As Trump narrowed in on his choice of Pence, the two men spent time at both Trump’s golf resort in New Jersey in early July and at the Indiana governor’s mansion this week,” Roll Call notes, citing an anonymous Republican source for the report.
The New York Times and CBS have also reported the pick is Pence.
However, the Trump campaign is denying this is true.

If she wins there it makes it very tough for Trump to get to 270 unless its not even a close race.
I think Pence is Trump’s pick, but we are now just hours away from knowing for sure, one way or the other.
It wouldn’t do either of these.

I know. Out in the dumb-ass media world it was all Pawlenty but I remember here on FR (where I always go to get the best available analysis) there was a lot of speculation about Palin before the event.
Because too many people have nothing productive to do? Because too many people are stewing over things that they have absolutely no control over? Because they have a feeling of over-importance and think that Trump should only pick their candidate and no one else?
Who knows. Whomever Trump selects will certainly be heads above old Slow Joe, as least as far as VP’s go.

I know. I myself opined (back in ‘08) that Palin wouldn’t do it because she’d just had a baby, specifically one with Down Syndrome, and would be too busy being a mommy for the job.

I knew she was governor of Alaska but not much else about her and when I read here what people thought of her I really started to pay attention.
No matter what the subject, here in FR there are always at least a few people who are very well informed.

I had a similar idea. Bring out several people at once. Announce that one is the VP pick, one is Secretary of Defense, one is Chief of Staff, one is Attorney General, etc. Then announce one-by-one which is which.
Who do you all think would be a VP that would increase Trump’s overall votes? I always hope for a decent conservative to fill out a candidate’s less-than conservative aspects, like Trump’s.
Off-hand I would figure the more conservative the better. Gingrich, Cruz, Palin come to mind. Notwithstanding their other drawbacks, they are usually on the right side of the debate, taking liberals to task for their corruption and failed ideology.
I personally was disgusted with my choice of McCain until Palin was added. But we also have to figure on the ear piercing whining that the media and the left will force on us when we try and support a decent conservative.
It’s their MOD when we have a conservative that succeeds and won’t apologize for it, like Gingrich did in the 90’s or Palin did as governor, to throw a fit and kick their feet until both sides feel like it’s too much trouble to deal with and the weak-kneed right’s support evaporates.
It might be well worth the guffaws and cringe worthy comments that accompany a Trump campaign and term to finally see this bunch treated like the brats they are.
