A former Donald Trump campaign staffer says in response to a Trump lawsuit against him that the campaign may have broken laws against mingling corporate and campaign funds.
Sam Nunberg, in a legal answer to a $10 million lawsuit claiming Nunberg violated a confidentiality agreement, said Trump may have illegally funneled corporate money into the campaign, and created a fictitious company that was listed as a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
Nunberg was fired from Trumps presidential campaign last summer, after it was revealed that he had posted racist messages on Facebook. Trumps lawsuit against him, made public on Wednesday, claims Nunberg in May told the New York Post about a public screaming match between two top Trump staffers: campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks, and Trumps then-campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski. Nunberg vehemently denies leaking the story. Samuel Nunberg
At the time of the argument between Hicks and Lewandowski, Nunberg hadnt been involved with Trumps campaign for more than 10 months.
Nunberg says in his answer to the lawsuit that the Trump campaign illegally created a fictitious company, called Trump 2012 PCA. The company is listed as a plaintiff in the suit against Nunberg, along with Trumps formal campaign. Samuel Nunberg
Nunberg also claims the campaign may very well have violated campaign finance laws by using Trump company resources for Trumps political campaign. Samuel Nunberg
News of the lawsuit and response upstaged Trumps search for a running mate, according to a source close to the campaign, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
This is happening on the worst possible day for him, said the adviser, who added that Trump disregarded advice not to file the lawsuit in the first place.

I am perplexed as to why Trump is filing this. Supposedly it's because he leaked info about a Corey/Hope fight that happened a while back in a previous news cycle. Everyone has moved on from that. A It was said and done, and Corey is no longer with the campaign. This guy wasn't with the campaign for 10 months when this supposed fight happened. He is claiming they were having an affair, but no one knew any such claim until this lawsuit was filed. Now he is bringing this out about Trump misusing funds and setting up a fake company. Whether this guy is lying or not, it is going to lead to a lot of digging around by the media and negative attention. The article quotes an anonymous advisor that says Trump disregarded advice to file this lawsuit. There is no way of knowing if this is true, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why Trump would file this lawsuit.
I posted from the Huffington Post only because they are showing his counter accusations against Trump which can't lead to good press when things seemed to be going better.
Any insight into what is going on with this?
And Huffington Post zeroes in on Trump for this flea of a deal.
Incredibly biased and hypocritical.

So the Huff is now relying on racists for their material.
The CIA sets up fake companies and misuses funds all the time. They’re called proprietaries and some of their activities, if made known, aren’t exactly legal. But then the ends justifies the means, right? Hell for that matter I bet most every person in Congress has if you count all the shell companies they set up to hide the funds they get paid for undue influence (bribes) and to conceal and protect their liquid assets. This is not something new. The MSM is just jumping on it to smack Donald for Hillary who they’re in the tank for.
Trumps lawyers have been working with the Federal Election all along to make sure every cent was done following their guide lines. It’s a nothing burgers !
The man is a dishonest delusional toad
This whole article seems to be “Nunberg said...” There is very little of substance to go on.
I think this is meant to deflect attention from Hillary’s real crimes by planting the idea of false equivalency. As in, Hillary launders millions of dollars through the Clinton Foundation—Trump is no different with his fake corporation (that we have no proof even exists).
The Huff and they Puff but they couldn’t blow Trump Towers down.
Yes, but did Trump know it was illegal and did he have intent. /supersarc.
You can always fully and absolutely trust every single word HufPo or RedState publishes about Trump. Trust it with your very life. For sure. Really. I mean it.
Supporting this hypothesis....this guy sure does seem to have snooped for all kinds of stuff that could be embarrassing to the campaign. And those racist postings? What other purpose could they have other than to try to frame the Trump campaign as racist?
“Peanut’s” compared to the Clinton Gang’s history of lies and deceit.
>>So the Huff is now relying on racists for their material.>>
Now? Huffpo relies on liberals, thus has ALWAYS relied on racists.
Thinking some of the same thoughts.
Huffpo is hawking this story to the MSM who will then begin their own ‘investigation’ (which is to say they will simply re-write Huffpo’s accusations). And if it all turns out to be true? It’s a corrupt practice for sure, but compared to the Grand Larceny taking place with Team Hillary?
Trump could be studying for the priesthood and Huffpo would be slinging mud on him in order to boost their socialist agenda. It’s just the way of it in today’s American Society.
No, that is so noughties. :-)
They always find someone willing to lie to trash a Republican candidate.
No, it really didn't.
Sam Nunberg was a former aide/adviser to the Donald Trump campaign who was fired for previously leaking salacious inflammatory information to the media. Upon firing Nunberg went to join the Ted Cruz campaign, and became a Cruz advocate.
Later it was revealed that Nunberg had written very divisive and racist material to his social media.
Everyone distanced themselves from him.
However, as a result of the initial firing, Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against Nunberg for violating the terms of a confidentiality agreement. Mr. Nunberg is facing the very real possibility of losing a $10 million civil action.
That’s the backdrop for today, when, in an effort to skirt around the non-disclosure confidentiality agreement, Nunberg, through his lawyers, leaked their response to the Trump lawsuit.
The Associated Press was first out of the gate with the story. The remaining MSM, generally -and transparently- biased against Trump, latched on to the leaked Nunberg legal filing and is now selling their own custom story about the lawsuit.
Time Inc, provides copies of all the current legal Nunberg response filings which can be seen here.
Nunberg previously claimed Ms. Hope Hicks (Trump Communication Lead) and Mr. Corey Lewandowski (former Trump Campaign Head) were having an affair. This claim was without any foundation other than the asserted word of Mr. Nunberg.
In essence that’s what led to Nunberg’s original firing, and the reason the Trump campaign lawyers requested the lawsuit be sealed to protect the character of Hicks and Lewandowski.
Both Ms. Hicks and Mr. Lewandowski have families who Donald Trump sought to protect from any salacious media inquisitions.
Mr. Nunberg is attempting to litigate/deflect the substantive issues surrounding his firing, and the associated breech of contract, through the media as a legal strategy. In doing so Nunberg’s “leverage” per se’, is to get the $10 million lawsuit dropped by positioning (threatening) an uncomfortable story (Hicks/Lewandowski) to come out amid the published headlines of the lawsuit.
In order to maximize the impact, the Nunberg legal response, and the associated media leak, was timed to coincide with the lead-up to the GOP convention. The timing is simply to provide greater leverage, and to create additional anxiety around a time when the removal of distractions is a campaign goal. Nothing more.
Those of you familiar with CTH discussion threads will note our own presentation surrounding why Mr. Lewandowski was later released from the Trump campaign.
