CLEVELAND An impassioned plea by a gay Republican delegate for the party to soften its stance on same-sex marriage failed to sway enough of her colleagues on the Platform Committee, which met Monday a week ahead of the convention to hammer out a statement of the GOPs core principles.
District of Columbia delegate Rachel Hoff identified herself as the first openly gay member on the Republican Platform Committee and struggled to hold back tears as she pleaded with her fellow colleagues to accept a more neutral position on gay marriage...

There’s no neutrality about sin. You’re either for it or against it.
I have to be free to say no to business.
The way they are pushing the homosexual play acting is the camels nose under the tent.
I didn’t think gays wanted anything softened.
Whatever you say, not that is has anything to do with my Comment.
Since you mentioned it, Abortion will NEVER be outlawed in this Country. Heck, we can’t even get it restricted anymore. Don’t think it’s Right, but it is the Law.
Trying to compare it to ridding America of Slavery, an issue that cost a Civil War and 700,000 lives is ridiculous.
Just look at the Texas Case from a couple of weeks ago. All that had to do with was requiring Hospital Privileges for the Abortion Doctor, nothing to do with the Mother or the Fetus. It went down in flames. Even if Scalia was still alive it would have lost. Outrageous but not unexpected.
The best we can possibly hope for is what was spelled out in Roe v Wade, Viability. Medical Science has progressed so a even a pre 20 Week Old Fetus can survive outside the Womb.
Just my $.02, your Mileage may vary.
Arent there places where they have same sex marriages?

The U.S. Supreme Court has “passed a law” that it’s legal every where in the U.S.
Next step on the agenda, to force every Pastor, Priest and Rabbi to perform the ceremony. (Imams exempt)
I see what you did there...
What will they do, or not do, because they dont accept it?
Great point! Since Roe V Wade a republican has been in the white house 22 years out of 40 years and abortion is still legal. Gay marriage is the law and I don’t see it being changed.
Shh.
Don’t tell her what the United States Subversive Court has been up to lately.
Opposing an evil thing can reduce it without a perfect ban ever existing.
And we’re supposed to kneel before whom?
America, with its still heightened sense of Christian awareness, is going to have a lot more indigestion to this thing stuffed down its craw, than other places.
I would not be surprised at an eventual denouement where the term marriage will be wrested free of the government grip, and some other word, like household, will serve as the civil entity. If nobody is officially “married” but only “householded” then it is not possible for anyone to be officially “gay married” either.
I’m not going to kneel before this Zod even if the rest of you do.
And if elected, they will do what, exactly, about pretend marriages?.
Vote for a federal nondiscrimination policy.
Pre-20 week fetus?
What is your question?
I should have said 16 Weeks (four Months), my mistake.
I’ve heard of a Preemie that survived after only four Months in the Womb. Didn’t Google it, just heard or read it somewhere.
If I’m wrong, I stand corrected.
We’ve lifted the cultural boundaries on sexuality...God only knows what is next. It won’t be pretty.
The sad truth is that most of us here are old enough to remember when right and wrong were clearly defined and adhered to. That was back in the days of a Civil Society.
Nowadays, it’s a free for all.
The Republic will not survive this.
I think I’ve read of one 22 week old surviving, but not 16 weeks. I think 23 week olds survive routinely.
Children deserve to be raised by both a mother and a father.
The end.
I don't recall any "impassioned pleas" when homosexual "marriage" was rammed down our collective throat.
Thanks. I heard 20 weeks, then I read somewhere four Months.
The point was, Roe v Wade mentioned Viability yet it is never mentioned.
Hillary and her sycophants think you can stop by Planned Parenthood to get an Abortion on the way to the Hospital to Deliver.
