What is your question?

I should have said 16 Weeks (four Months), my mistake.

I’ve heard of a Preemie that survived after only four Months in the Womb. Didn’t Google it, just heard or read it somewhere.

If I’m wrong, I stand corrected.

We’ve lifted the cultural boundaries on sexuality...God only knows what is next. It won’t be pretty.

I think I’ve read of one 22 week old surviving, but not 16 weeks. I think 23 week olds survive routinely.

This is the reality: When I was a medical student in 1974-76, a lot of 32-week babies died. Currently, most 28-weekers survive undamaged, the damage rates rise from 27 down to 24 weeks, a few (very few) 22 and 23 weekers survive, almost all with significant limitations, and somewhere around 22 weeks is a hard floor for survival that current knowledge/technology cannot pierce.

God’s plan for development in the womb is miraculous. We’ve learned to support babies who are missing only the last two months (32 weeks plus, mostly growth in a safe place). We’ve learned to protect little lungs that need help to breathe (26-32 weeks).

But a twenty week baby who is unfortunately born at that time cannot live (for long) without its mother’s complex and miraculously fitted life support system, and that’s not going to get better any time soon, if ever.
