The professional media and political class view all of this as some exercise in ideological purity. This is especially true of those ensconced in their legacy secured private communities and lifestyles. Lacking real world experience they turn to the abstract battles of ideology where paper tigers are less formidable then in neighborhoods, communities and public spaces shared by an increasingly tense and fearful population.
